Spoilers for both Lost and Supernatural behind the cut! You've been warned! )

Sorry I haven't been around, folks. I have nothing to post except existential angst, and no one wants to read that.

Getting up at a decent hour this morning was yet again a bust. Oh well. Turns out that if I don't have somewhere pressing to be I can't drag myself out of bed. Didn't help that I was sleeping off yesterday's migraine. At least I haven't had that many migraines lately. I think I've had maybe three in the last year, which is pretty good given that I used to have them five or six times a month.

Today is a day of not much. I am going to take the morning "off," and finish up the fourth season of Lost, which should free me up afterward for things that aren't obsessive TV-watching. Sheesh. At least there are only about four episodes left.

I am a little embarrassed to admit that the early life on the Lost island seems pretty sweet. I mean, few utilities, nice weather, reasonable amounts of food, and mostly-friendly company? No schedule to keep, no job to go to, nothing to do except lie on the beach, go swimming, occasionally hunt and gather food? Sounds pretty nice. Of course, the subsequent war with the natives puts a crimp in things, but hey.

I'm using my old "rabbit poker" icon, which [livejournal.com profile] karine made for me back in the day. Yay for LJ giving me a whole bunch of icon slots!

So I'm about halfway through Season 4, and I am way beyond confused. Every time I think they've reached the height of how much crack the writers can smoke, they turn around and do something even more screwed up.

At this point, I'm just praying that it'll start making sense again in Season 5. I'm just scratching my head constantly now. There are at least three different groups in play now, possibly four, everyone is on different sides and shifts alliances so readily that I can't begin to keep track, and on top of it all now it's impossible to tell what's a flashback and what's a flash-forward.

AUGH!

So today I overslept, which is starting to get to be a habit. Whenever I get the time in the morning, there's a big part of me that refuses to be dragged out of bed until I awaken naturally.

So now I have to get dressed and get back out in the garden. [livejournal.com profile] moonandtree mentioned that he came by yesterday, but I don't think he actually got any digging done, so today's plan is going to be digging up the side beds.

I am stupidly tired this morning. Inertia is a difficult thing to overcome, apparently.

Also, Lost is getting increasingly confusing, and there are things which not only make no sense, but appear to directly contradict other stuff that's happened in the show.

I really want to go back to bed. I am ridiculously tired.

... was when Sawyer dubbed Ana Lucia "Ponce de León." I don't know why but it made me laugh very, very hard. :D

Almost as funny is watching him trying NOT to give people nicknames after losing that bet with Hurley. Hee!

Spoilers for people like me who've never watched the show )

Okay, I'm off to go dig in the garden in-between rain showers.

So I finally caved and started watching Lost. Made it through the first season, and was impressed and curious enough to keep watching, although I wasn't thoroughly hooked.

I finished the second season last night, and now I'm toast. Absolute freaking toast. I want to go out RIGHTNOW and get the third season and find out what happens AAAH!

I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. Most TV shows these days tend to be pretty run-of-the mill when it comes to plot and writing. The plot of Lost was consistently good, and I enjoyed the characterization a great deal. The writing was okay, but not brilliant. This changed in Season 2, and for the better. The writing got really solid, the plot got more intricate, and I was impressed with some of the risks the show was willing to take.

I'm hoping they don't blow it in future seasons...
