Poll!

Haven't made a poll in a while, but since this idea (like so many others) has been kicking around in my head for a while, I thought I'd indulge it.

I've mentioned before that I was thinking of writing a column, which I would post at [livejournal.com profile] rocking_thing. Maybe weekly, maybe every two weeks, depending on how hard it turns out to be. Nonfiction does sometimes take longer than fiction to write. Sometimes.

My main problem is that my thinking is a little scattered. There are any number of subjects I could write about, but I would like the column to have focus. Then I realised that that's why I have friends: so that I can ask their opinion. It may be that you, dear people on my flist, are thinking along the same lines as I am, or it may be that our ideas are diametrically opposed. Either way, I'd like to know your thoughts: it'll help me at the very least sift through the morass of ideas I have floating around in my head. (Ph34r me as I mix not two, but three whole metaphors!)

Okay folks, have at it! :)

So I've been doing some thinking about my writing lately, and rather than posting the results of said thinking, I'm making a poll instead. Just because I can.

I'd like a challenge. I work well with challenges. So I'm asking my faithful readers to throw ideas and concepts at me, and if I see one I like, I'll run with it. Current writing projects are NOT going to be put on hold, but variety is the spice of life, so starting other things is good too. :)

Poll!

Okay, unfortunately this poll is directed only at people in Montreal. Feel free to answer anyway, but mostly I'm curious about Montreal. :)

So it has come to my attention that among my friends there are two schools of thought concerning the use of tea bags. To re-use, or not to re-use?

Complete purists don't use tea bags at all (I admit, tea leaves do taste better). Semi-purists will only use the tea bag for one cup of tea, or one pot at a time. The others see nothing wrong with re-using a tea bag once or twice, since it retains the flavour for a while.

So, to which school of thought do you belong? Or, if you don't drink tea, I've left you another voting option. :)

...

I still don't have a tea icon.

Okay, so this week brunch will take place as usual at 10:30am at the Eggspectations at the AMC Forum.

However, since a number of people have complained about prices (and I admit, I find them a bit steep too), I want suggestions for a different brunch venue. Obviously, this applies to the Montrealers on my friends list. Sorry to all you out-of-towners, but you lack the local knowledge to help me out, here. ;)

Here are the criteria:

A) Fairly central location to downtown, or really accessible by metro. I don't want people getting lost on the bus or anything. Brunch is not meant to be a hassle.

B) Reasonably inexpensive. $10 and above is what we spend at Eggspectations, so anywhere that can offer decent-quality food for less is welcome.

C) A reasonable amount of variety in the menu. Not everyone wants eggs and sausage for breakfast. :)

Basically, use your common sense when making suggestions.

Okay, so I've noticed lately that, my own absence aside, not many people have been showing up for brunch lately. This makes me wonder if, well, the brunches haven't served their God-given purpose, and whether it's not time to either call an end to it, or maybe just give brunch a makeover, or put it on hiatus for a while. Something.

Given that I'm not the only one this would affect, I decided to make a poll. Have at it!

Okay, chickens. Time for another poll, 'cause I'm curious. :)

I'm off to make icons now. Woo!
