Okay, so I've noticed lately that, my own absence aside, not many people have been showing up for brunch lately. This makes me wonder if, well, the brunches haven't served their God-given purpose, and whether it's not time to either call an end to it, or maybe just give brunch a makeover, or put it on hiatus for a while. Something.

Given that I'm not the only one this would affect, I decided to make a poll. Have at it!

I would have put "As regularly as I can manage", but that hasn't been true of late...

I like it as a low-key event, though.

I'm almost never up before noon on Saturdays, but when I am it's nice to have somewhere I can show up to.

I'd like to go more often, but there are two hurdles for me.

#1. The price. Eggspectations is very expensive when compared to other breakfast places, and I am on a tight budget. I'd love to get to it more often, but that's limited by when I have $10 to drop on a small breakfast. Could we shift to a more economical place?

#2. Mobility. This is an issue that affects me only, but I'm now in a wheelchair, and will be until October at least. I'd need a drive if I were going to make it, or at least someone to help me with the chair in the metro. Any volunteers?

I find it a) expensive and b) early, but since its the only venue where I see some of you, I try to make it when I can.

If you decide to cancel it, can I ask that you hold at least one more, as I've promised [livejournal.com profile] _grey_knight to take him to the brunch when he's in town on Saturday...

Really? I personally find it's a little on the late side.

You don't live 2 hours from downtown, by phone.

Agreed. I have the same reasons, but it's mostly because it's far from home and driving downtown on Saturday morning with Matt in tow can get a bit complicated sometimes, depending on how tired we all are and how Matt's schedule is out of whack from usual... O_o

Like the other times I was there, I'll be there when there is a convenient reason for me to be downtown afterwards; otherwise I can't see myself making a regular outing of it.

The transit time for me is horrendous. The weekend transit time. Where a slipup costs me one hour.

Unless it becomes a full day outing, I'm not able to justify the huge amount of time and effort it would take to make it to one of these.

Also, someone above mentioned price. I can readily believe it being in a prime location in the core.
