Those of you who haven't given up in disgust yet will be pleased to know that there are two new chapters waiting for you up at [livejournal.com profile] secret_history.

I'm not putting the direct link to the entries here because it's late and I'm tired and so I'm going to be lazy about this.

Happy Trails!

So I ran around like a headless chicken to get my application all put together. I got all the documents I needed, addressed the envelope, put stamps on it, signed my cover letter, sealed the whole thing, and then realized there wasn't a mailbox around.

"No problem," think I. "There's a mailbox not too far from home. When I get back from my dance class, I'll mail it then."

...

Hah. Hah! I say now to that. Famous last words.

When I got back from my dance class, I realised I'd forgotten the envelope in the "safe place" where I'd put it at the club so it wouldn't get misplaced or damaged.

*sigh*

I'm going there tonight, and it will be going directly in the mail then.

Did I mention blisteringly stupid? There are times when I amaze even myself.

I *so* need to start an asphalt company called "Good Intentions."

[livejournal.com profile] the_xtina, I'm looking at you. ;)

So, you know how you can view all entries with a particular tag, right? What if I want to view entries using two tags as keyword (for lack of a better way of expressing it)? See, it's rare that my entries only have one tag. Usually there are two or more. So, supposing I'm looking for an entry I remember tagging "work" and "rant" and "random" (for example), I don't want to just search for "work" because that'll net me six-billion entries to look through.

How would I go about doing that? Is it even possible?

Thanks!

So Boss!Lady took me out to lunch to belatedly celebrate my birthday. It was very nice of her, and the food was good. I can think of about ten things I would rather have done with my lunch hour than spend it with my boss, but it's once a year and it is a sincerely nice gesture. So I made nice and talked about her kids and told her the bare minimum she wanted to know about me, and I hope I didn't commit any gaffes of which I'm unaware.

So there was no writing today, and no lunchtime nap, and as a consequence I'm kinda cranky.

Also, the people with whom I talk online during the day (by email) all have Other Stuff to do which precludes talking to me, so I'm kinda bored.

Anyway, nothing that another hour and a half won't fix. ;)

I have declared today Get The Goddamn Paper Off My Desk Day. It's working reasonably well, too, I must say.

Okay, back to work.

Dear Self,

Don't taunt the CAM. It's too easy, and thus not as much fun in the end. Pick a target who won't automatically rise to your bait.

Love,

Me

In other news, almost everyone has left. L got a lift home with the CAM, and now I'm all by my lonesome at reception.

*twiddles thumbs*

I have one bill left to take care of, and several metric assloads of filing, and the One Form to do.

The One Form is pure, unadulterated administrative evil which takes me several days of very tedious research to complete. It's basically a form that puts all the departmental expenses in one place, and I have to verify the whole thing. Unfortunately, the One Form blithely assumes that we keep all this stuff in one place, which we don't. There isn't enough room, for one thing. Also, the One Form's concept of math does not correspond to Earth Math, so I spend a lot of time with my calculator trying to figure out where the hell those numbers came from. I've been doing this for nearly a year, and it still takes me forever to finish it.

One Form to frustrate them all
One Form to find them
One Form to bring them all
And in the Administration bind them...
