I just recognized a pattern of behaviour. Why I didn't notice before is beyond me.

See, I always knew November kind of sucked for me. What I *didn't* see until today is that every November I go into survival hyperdrive, withdraw from humanity, and find something to obsess over. Every year it's something different. 2006 was the zombie novel, 2007 was the new job at the RCMP, and last year I read something like forty-three books (yes, I went back and checked) and spent all my free time (which wasn't much) with BorderCrossing. This year it appears to be watching Supernatural and reading fanfic. Yes, fanfic.

There's been a new thing every year. I was wondering why I wasn't "feeling" the same thing as in 2006 when I was writing about zombie, why this novel isn't coming together in my head, and now I understand why: the obsession is different this year.

It's too bad, but at least I get what's going on now.

How far into Supernatural are you? I've already started re-watching this season since I'm just that into it. It's a staple at my house :D Part of a nutriously balanced tv diet.

As for the fanfic, I stay away from it. I originally (years and years ago) was introduced to some really gods-awful stuff and never went back to reading any others. When it comes to Supernatural fanfic I've heard there is way more Wincest stuff out there than I'd like to think possible. These people do realise they're brothers right? *lol*

I have found some pretty decent stuff out there. Mind you, there are LANDFILLS worth of crappy fanfic to go through. Luckily, my current little quasi-psychotic objection plus my ability to read fast (and quickly determine the quality of a given writer) allows me to wade through it pretty fast.

As much as it squicks me, I have actually accidentally stumbled upon some incidental-to-the-plot Wincest that was really well written and kind of made sense in an alternate universe/this-would-never-happen-in-canon kind of way. And it somehow squicks me less than the Harry Potter incest stuff: at least the Winchesters are adults.

I have finished watching Season 3, and am about to start Season 4. Oh God, the ANGST!

Just steer clear of the people who are CONVINCED that the two lead actors are lovers in-real-life. It's not that it's not possible, or that there would be anything wrong with it if they were, but the crazy involved in defending the concept against the contrary evidence is... epic.

O_O

Wow.

Haven't stumbled on those yet.

People who write actor-driven fiction creep me the f*ck out.

Fanfic is practically a subplot in Supernatural, seriously ;)

It gets at least an episode at some point :V

Forty-three?? That's more than one a day.

*boggles*

I read *really* fast, and re-reading books is a comfort thing for me. I can re-read a novel in about two to four hours, so on days off I'd often go through several novels.
