Mission: Impossible is going to be out on DVD in its entirety in November!

Squee!

Also, I bit the bullet and signed up for Zip.ca, and so far I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the service. The DVDs come quickly, and so far only one has come "out of order" since I've put only TV series on my wishlist. It's an exercise in patience for me, since I like to do marathons of TV seasons, but watching them four at a time and then waiting a week or so for the next four episodes is working out pretty well thus far.

I rented "Tru Blood" from my FLVS, and while it was very different from what I expected, I thoroughly enjoyed it once I revised my expectations. I have to say that the show does unsexy sex scenes remarkably well. The writing was solid, and made me laugh and laugh.

I have been renting "Prison Break," but someone else in the neighbourhood had the same idea as I did, and so I am currently being thwarted by the fact that the second disc of season 2 is out and has been for days. So I'm going to have to wait a little while before I find out what happens next.

So tonight I have a choice between Criminal Minds, Supernatural, and Deadwood. All in all, I can't complain. :)

I've never watched Dr. Who (isn't it a spinoff?). Will that matter?

If you watch "Torchwood," pay attention to the character with the unusual hands.

The actress used to be a newscaster (maybe she still is?) and was the focus of a HUGE controversy when she got pregnant.

Feminists and disability activists thundered to her defense; the right to choose means the right to get pregnant, too.

I've never watched "Torchwood" but I saw her in the promos. :)

Mad Men is awesome. I'm halfway through season two (also having problems with them always being off the shelves when I want to rent 'em) and I have become completely hooked to the point of worshipful drooling.

I've heard good things about the show, although I still don't know exactly what it's about. Mostly people go on and on about how awesome the show is. Much like with "Tru Blood," come to think of it, which I ended up renting just to see what the fuss was about. ;)

It's about employees at an ad agency in the early 60s, and their families. What it's really about is watching the end of an era and the formation of a new one, and the havoc that wreaks on everybody. It's brilliant, slow paced and delicious. I both love and loathe every one of the characters in their turn, and that's a testament to the incredibly nuanced writing.

Highly recommend, in other words.

I am waiting for Season 1 to arrive.

I've seen Season 2's episodes so often on replay that Savant considers me addicted.

I find myself altogether too interested in Eric.

What amazes me is how they all sound genuinely Southern:
Godric - Danish
Eric - Swedish
Bill - British
Jason - Australian

The guy who plays Jason is a handsomer, younger version of George W. Bush and I know he'd be great in the role. But whom shall I call with this wonderful notion?

Who's your fave?

I've only seen Season 1, and I totally have a soft spot for poor wishy-washy Sam. That's 'cause I like doggies.

"I enjoy riding in the car."

"Aww, of course you do!"

I *loved* that exchange. It made my entire day.

Sam is nekkid a lot in Season 2.

And very, very sweet. I want to tell you more, but I dasn't.

I will look forward to that exchange!

Good actor doing a very good job. BTW, he said he was a little hurt at ComiCon when none of the fans showed up "dressed as a dog" (by which he meant fursuit). :)
