I was just thinking the other day that most of my friends (the ones who've read and enjoyed Harry Potter, that is) identify strongly with either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. A couple have identified as Slytherins, and I think I might well be the only one who considers herself a Hufflepuff.

Then I realized that I always talk to the same people about this sort of thing, so I thought I would put the question more broadly to my flist, out of curiosity.

I never felt I fit in anywhere, sadly. I'd rather just ... teach.

So, Hufflepuff then.

Here's the thing---

I'd *like* to think I'd be sorted into Ravenclaw.

My fear is that I'd be sorted into Hufflepuff.

I'd also like to think that based on will alone, if nothing else, I'd get the House I wanted!

(Why do you think Hufflepuff for yourself? I would have pegged you as a Ravenclaw fer sure.)

The fact that your fear Hufflepuff makes you wise, and shows you read the books, so Ravenclaw it is! Well done. Now go read something.

I identify a bit more with Hufflepuff (loyalty to friends, inclusion, perseverance, hard work, community service, etc.) than with Ravenclaw (academia and knowledge). I think the Sorting Hat would have trouble placing me, to be honest: the only House I really don't belong in is Slytherin (I'm neither cunning nor sly nor ambitious).

My chief problem with Hufflepuff is that they tend to be very conservsative. Also, the hard working thing . . . yeah, see, I'd rather just curl up with a book.

I do actually quite love Hufflepuff and felt in our RPG (sphogwarts) that it was a marvellous House to be part of.

However, my personality is much more Ravenclaw.

not slytherin... NOT SLYTHERIN

j'suis seulement rendue au début du quatrième livre, donc je ne connais pas bien les maisons Ravenclaw et Hufflepuff encore.

À partir de quand en parle-t-on davantage?

You'd be a tossup between Ravenclaw or Gryffindor, I think; depends on whether the Sorting Hat found you more conspicuously brainy or brave.

I see four Hufflepuffs ATM in your poll, which is really neat.

I really lean strongest towards the *concept* of Ravenclaw, but can't say I particularly love the House's depiction in the books. But then, if Hermione Granger can be a Gryffindor with all of her book love/ general love of knowledge, then so can I.

So - Gryffindor, with wide streaks of Ravenclaw.

HELLO! Over here! I am the most hardcore Hufflepuff there ever was. I have the shirt, the scarf, the hat, the tights, and the badges to prove it. I was a rocking Hufflepuff at the Deathly Hallows release party. Are you on facebook? Cause if you are, you can see the pictures.

w00t!

I am amazed at the number of Hufflepuffs on my list. Who knew? We're a quiet, modest bunch, it seems. ;)

The online sorters I get usually stick me in Ravenclaw, which I think is fair. Occasionally one will put me in Gryffindor if it was done with a Gryff bias. I might have done OK in Slytherin but I wouldn't have been happy. I'm too lazy to be a Hufflepuff.

Honestly I've always fancied myself a Gryffindor, but online sorters are split between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. I see a lot of myself in both houses, honestly. I think it would kind of depend on my mood that day. Haha.

I'm not sure which of my responses went through, and anyway either one would require this modifier:

I am right about smack-dab middle between Slytherin and Hufflepuff. I am a... Slytherpuff, I guess?

Tough Choice...

I feel Ravenclaw have a lot of traits that could describe me well but after thinking about it for quite a while, I realize that the Sorting Hat would inevitable make me a Hufflepuff!
