So what has to happen before you go permanent? Is it a time-served thing, or a 'we have four posts opening and six temps, take the four best' kind of thing?
Hey, when you get a permanent posting, you may be able to take your overtime as compensatory time in lieu of cash, too. I am able to; it's nice to be able to extend your annual leave with comp time, once you have a steady source of income.
Anyway, it's something you have to discuss with your manager. Parks Canada is pretty good about it; I don't know how the RCMP would be.
