Back in the ranks of the employed

Had a highly stressful time getting there. The directions were unclear, and there was construction EVERYWHERE. I was fifteen minutes late. Way to make a good first impression. :P Apparently that wasn't too much of an issue, but I felt like a total doofus, because I got lost four times getting there due to circumstances not of my own doing (I left an hour early to get there on time, dagnabbit!).
I'm highly overqualified for this, and the supervisor who interviewed me is very nervous about employing me. He thinks I'll leave the minute something better comes along, and I must admit he might be right. He wants someone for the long haul, and I can't say that my ambition in life is to stay in that office and be the assistant to the girl who answers phones and enter data into the computer.
However, I did my best to allay his fears and told him that I was looking for stability, something long-term and certain, which is entirely true. We got along very well, and he told me that his impression of me was very good.
Basically, he's hired me on a trial basis. I start tomorrow at 8am.
The down side? My job will normally be from 10:30 to 7:30, which will mean bad things for my social life, such as it is. I will figure that out as time goes by.
Right now I'm starting earlier because the person I'm assisting and who will be training me starts earlier (she starts at 7:30 O_O).
So, yes. Thank you to everyone who wished me luck and sent me good vibes. I now have a job. Yay!
