It was only after interest rates came down in 1994 that employment revived and Canada's bilateral current account balance with the US turned from deficits to surpluses as shown in the accompanying graph.

*snarl*

What kind of a sentence is that, may I ask? I'm a translator, not a miracle worker! "Bilateral current account balance" indeed!

What they mean is that once interest rates fell (in 1994), employment went up and the current account balance between Canada and the U.S. of A. went from being in the hole to being back in the black.

Glad I could help. ;^p

*thwap* ^_-

I know that. My main problem is how the hell to translate "bilateral current account balance" into something approximating good French, which is an entirely different kettle of fish.

See, knowing what something means in my world doesn't always mean that I'll be able to translate it properly. :P

bilateral current account balance = the money/currency that passes between the two countries (in this case being the US and Canada)...

At least, that's what my (unfortunately) bank-trained brain says. (It's unfortunate because I'm an Engineering major. *g*)

Help any? ;)

You're a sweetie. :)

Again, I know what it is and what it means. Sadly, that doesn't tell me what the appropriate French jargon is.

Don't worry about it, I've got enough ressources to help me figure it out. :)

*sigh*

Yeah, I know.

I was just bitchy and frustrated and fighting off a migraine. My comment *was* meant to be taken lightly, but upon re-reading it just sounds bitchy. My apologies. :)

No need for apologies. . .

I was being snarky when I posted my original comment. I meant it in a smart-assy way, and I took your comment in the same vein. No apologies necessary.

Hope you're feeling better today!
