So I managed to change the look of my LJ.

Not all that much, all things considered, since I rather like the Generator style, but I figured it was high time I got rid of the "Dancing in the Dark" theme I had going, since most of the icons and whatnot I had for it have long since been replaced. Besides, I've had that look since January 2003, and it no longer really fits, does it?

So I'm going to be fiddling with this for a while longer. Changed my userinfo as well, but I think I'll be fiddling more with that too. I wrote it late at night and I'm not entirely satisfied with either the tone or the content.

Conclusion: LJ is massively time-consuming. ;)

*sigh*

There's nothing like sitting in a dark office with a whole stack of accounts receivable to take care of because your bosses couldn't be arsed to do their work for a whole week to make you want to just up and leave for the Yukon and take up dog mushing.

Okay. Off to work.

I am *this* close (:::makes appropriate hand gesture:::) to giving notice, except that I'm moving, and I don't need the extra stress.

This job is an exercise in frustration, and unlike the other place, which was also an exercise in frustration, over here my boss apparently thinks nothing of screaming at her employees. At least the misogynistic ass who was my former supervisor kept himself to a minimal level of civility.

I understand that she's in pain because she tore her ligament in her knee skiing (on company time, but that's a rant for another day), and I understand that she's had a trying day because she spent the whole morning repossessing equipment with a bailiff.

But:

1- No one forced her to go with the bailiff. Her husband could very well have done that on his own.

2- None of the above is an excuse to go off like a fucking land mine on all your employees for real and imagined faults when you come back into the office.

Seriously. I'm really pissed off. I don't appreciate getting no information for days, then getting contradictory instructions, and then getting screamed at because I didn't follow the contradictory instructions, and then getting screamed at because I got confused.

Fuck.

She calmed down and apologized after I called her on the screaming, but still. I can't work like this indefinitely. I can work in high-pressure situations (Erb wasn't exactly a picnic), but I won't work in a poisonous atmosphere either. If she doesn't shape up, I'm shipping out.

Not to mention that today was, once again, almost a complete write-off.

The subject of what will be on someone's headstone comes up a fair bit among our group of friends (I wonder why? ^_-).

For instance: "And another thing!..." (we predict t! will have several headstones, just to make room for all the verbiage)

Or: "I can still kick your ass from here."

There are others. I just can't think of them offhand.

Anyway, I felt I should share this latest Something*Positive strip, as it seems to be in the same spirit, and I know most of you will appreciate the sentiment.

"With my luck lately, their little incantation will mix with their blood and raise legions of the whining damned who quote Linkin Park and wear a lot of eye shadow." Hee!

If you're not already regularly reading S*P, may I ask why you're not? Standard threats of domiciliary arson apply.
