Moving, and Murphy's law...
Feb. 7th, 2005 11:32 amMurphy's law being what it is, I have decided to give myself some leeway (and thus added stress), by moving the second-to-last weekend in February, if this is okay with
ai731.
See, I figure that if I move the last weekend of February, there will be a giant blizzard that will descend upon the city, thus preventing me from doing anything useful, and screwing me royally.
So I'm giving myself some leeway, even though it gives me less time to pack.
Thus, Montreal people: would any of you kind souls be free that weekend to help a gal take her stuff down the Staircase of Doom and over (via U-Haul truck, of course) to the new place and back up one flight of stairs?
Naturally, there will be compensation provided in the form of much food and drink.
There isn't *that* much furniture, to reassure you. Only about two really heavy pieces (maybe three, I might be forgetting one), and the rest are light, if unwieldy. Some of it even folds and/or dismantles conveniently. :)
I'll also be doing a fair amount of schlepping of light stuff on my own in the next two weeks, so that we don't have to bring huge amounts of boxes and shit on the final day of moving. This is the plan, anyway.
What say?
Also, can you think of anyone who might be willing to help on that weekend who doesn't read LJ?
Thanks in advance. :)
