Reason 76,482 why Phnee's life sucks:

My Idiot!Landlord has struck again. Hydro Québec called today and told me that if I didn't produce $800 by the end of the day they'd cut off my power.

So I scraped together $500 from what was supposed to be my rent money (the Idiot!Landlord will just have to wait for his cheque since he's the one who didn't let me know about the Hydro bills until now), and promised them my soul if I hadn't paid the balance off by Monday.

So now I need almost $300 that I don't have before Monday. Whee!

I called my bank to cash in my GIC, but the maturity date isn't before August 25th, so I'm screwed until then.

I found my paintball mask, but the boots are missing. Two pairs of boots, actually, which I now realise I haven't seen in over three months, ever since my mother came and helpfully cleaned part of my apartment.

I can't afford a new pair of boots, obviously.

I can't even afford gas for the car.

So unless I can miraculously come up with some kind of cash before Friday, Bigfoot ain't gonna happen.

Have I mentioned how much this sucks?

:::ETA::: This post is also a palindrome. 1001 posts. Yee!

... to want to lay waste to an entire roomful of people with my paintball marker?

I'm going to have to take a shitload of work home with me tonight, I'm still trying to get my paycheque sorted out (pray for me, people: if this works I'll be okay for the next few weeks), and on top of it my mother not only wants to have me to dinner, but she's insisted I let her come home with me afterward so she can "help me look for my boots" which is another way of saying she wants to clean my apartment and radiate disapproval at me.

Hey, at least all my dishes are clean. She can't fault me for my kitchen, for once. Even the bathroom is decent. The living room and bedroom are another story, but at least the place is reasonably tidy.

:::faceplant:::

I'm so glad my paintball marker is far away and that I have no paint for it. Otherwise I might very well go on a rampage in the Department of Financial Services here, and then I'd *never* get paid. :P

It may come as a surprise to some of you that I am not a complete nincompoop about my personal affairs, in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Here's what I did today, apart from bitch and whine about my finances:

1- I found my boots.

2- I sat on the Financial Services Person Responsible For My Paycheque until he coughed up my money. $700 worth. Woohoo!

3- I managed, in spite of the two hours it took to get my paycheque, to *almost* fulfill my quota of pages today for my translation.

4- I paid off my Hydro bill in full, so they can't bitch at me anymore. Hah.

5- I also cleaned up a good portion of my apartment, with help from my mother, and I managed to be fairly civilised with her in spite of her tendency to point out the annoying and obvious six or seven times per annoying observation.

Conclusion? I have enough money for rent and Bigfoot, and I still have another paycheque which will be here in two weeks. I no longer have to worry about my electricity being cut off while I'm in Rawdon over the weekend, either.

*does happy arm-pumping thing* YESSSSSS!
