mousme: A view of a woman's legs from behind, wearing knee-high rainbow socks. The rest of the picture is black and white. (Hi!)
So, yeah. Today I am going *in* to work, as opposed to merely working from home as I did yesterday. I got about the same amount of work done, and I didn't get a migraine, which is good. However, I kept getting pangs of guilt about not cleaning up my apartment.

Anyway, today I need to do several things:

1- Find my paintball gear. I am worried because I have lost track of (a)my boots, although I think I know where they are, (b) my mask, which is trickier, (c) my BDU cap, which is a tragedy, and (d) my solid black t-shirt. The boots I'll find, the mask I assume is somewhere, and I hope I find the other two as I don't *really* have the money to replace them.

I also need to dig up my walkie-talkies. *sigh*

Dunno when I got so disorganised, but I need to remedy that tonight, because Bigfoot is in D minus four!

*bounces*

2- At work, I need to get about ten pages of this translation done. This is not impossible, because the pages aren't that long (maybe 250 words each), but it does mean doing a blitz.

Feh.

3- Keep working on my attempts to make my apartment livable again. This whole baby-step process is so antithetical to my big-picture perfectionist personality that it's driving me insane, and I keep giving it up as "hopeless" which is precisely the wrong thing to do. I know that doing it in small steps will eventually get it clean, but I keep having to restrain myself so as not to try to do it all at once and then exhaust myself and let it get out of hand again.

I'm hoping that 1 and 3 will actually complement each other.

And for all I got 11 hours of sleep last night, I'm still goddamned tired. What's it gonna take, huh? *shakes fist at the heavens*

So, I get to work, instant migraine-producing environment. I can already feel my eyes giving out on me. :P

This sucks. I think it's the fluorescent lighting and lack of windows. At Bell there were huge bay windows to compensate for the fluorescent lights which zapped and shimmered unnaturally at us all day long. Here there's no such animal: it's a cube in the middle of a building.

On the plus side, I've got a fair bit of work done. Not nearly enough, but a fair bit.

I'm now going to go work without interruption until 3 o'clock. That should force me to be productive.

I feel like renting a DVD tonight, now that I know I can watch them on my computer. Then again, will that make me feel better? Will it allow me to go to bed at a decent hour? Will it be conducive to my doing any of the things I said I would do when I got home?

Probably not.

*mope*

Maybe next week.

That last paragraph broke my brain, and my head hurts now. I don't think it's a migraine, but that's precious little comfort.

I think I'll be staying at work longer than I thought in order to get some more headway on this little project. I need to finish it by Thursday at the very latest, and I still have fourteen pages to go.

Piss.

I'm going to try for another five pages tonight, then five tomorrow, then four on Thursday.

The more I get done early, the less I have to do in the next few days.

The meme I found in [livejournal.com profile] kimberly_a's journal and posted in mine is now littering my friends list. Is a fun feeling. :)

And now, here's something we hope you'll really like!

Congratulations! You are Anna of Cleves!

Anna of Cleves got the royal shaft. She came all the way to England to become the fourth wife of Henry VIII. Once married to Anna, he refused to consummate the marriage, and called her the "Flanders Mare". Talk about a burn, considering that by this time, Henry was the fattest man in England and had a rotting syphilis sore on his leg.

Anna was miffed, but she was too sensible to let it ruin her fun. She was given an annulment and a fat yearly allowance, and she threw extravagant parties and dined on delicacies for the rest of her life.

Which of Henry VIII's wives are you?

this quiz was made by the lycanthropes at Spookbot

Oh, and as an edit:

True Werewolf
Average Werewolf: You change with the moon, like to
eat people, and then forget everything once you
have changed back. You might not even have
known you were a werewolf before now. Um,
surprise!

It's 9:10 over here, and I haven't finished the artificial quota I set for myself today.

I need some outside input on this:

[Poll #165057]

I know what the words mean, but I can't make this sentence make sense:

"Indeed, the implicit corollary of professional was apolitical."

F*cked if I know what it means. *beats head on desk* To me it looks like it's missing a word, but I could be wrong.

Kay? Anyone? Help?

In other news, this post is a palindrome. :) I like palindromes. They're fun.
