Still no answer from her. I didn't leave a message this time. I would think that anything above three is considered stalker level, right?

*sigh*

Cleaning up madly now as [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave and [livejournal.com profile] firewillow will be here in less than two hours for what will hopefully be a good game of Mage. I only hope [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave won't be too fried from going to bed late and getting up at an ungodly hour to go fishing. Seems to me that's a guarantee to have him crash early, but what can you do? A game is a game.

I've got the worst part of the apartment (i.e. the litter boxes) done, and most of the kitchen. So at least my guests won't be asphyxiated by the toxic goop that my cats produce on a regular basis (I swear, you'd think they were snacking on grass from Tchernobyl...), and won't be grossed out by all the dishes that I regularly neglect.

I still have to pick up all the random stuff that's accumulated in my living-room, however, because that's where we'll be playing.

My table is *covered* in junk, most of it useful, but nonetheless it qualifies as clutter.

I don't really feel like moving, let alone cleaning, but I am forcing myself to get off my ass and do stuff, because, well, it isn't nice for other people to be welcomed into a mess such as this, and mine is the only available place to play tonight. Have put on The Full Monty soundtrack in an effort to disco my way to tidyness. ;)

Having people over is a good thing. *repeat to self* It'll prevent me from stewing in my own juice and brooding unnecessarily.

Besides, I bought two and a half pounds of cherries! Yee!

:::edit:::

LiveJournal is being a biatch and not letting me update, so I'm posting this about, oh, a day after I wanted to.

She called to let me know she got my messages, will be speaking to her tomorrow. Well, officially today, but not for at least another ten hours or so.

Mage unquestionably rocked, and now that we're Technocrats we get lots of cool gadgets, and I GOT A FLASHY THINGIE! Wheeee!

It's hot in my apartment again, though.

Bummer.

The Mikeopath stopped by last night to drop off the latest addition to my household, a small black cat named Smudge.

Smudge had a very bad day: he got a bit sick in the car, broke his carrier and took refuge under a porch, got absolutely filthy, then soiled himself upon being shoved unceremoniously back in the carrier.

When Mike got here, he was dirty and stank and was yowling at the top of his lungs (Smudge, that is, not Mike, although the description could, on a usual day, apply to Mike as well ^_-). Then Mike added insult to injury by sticking the poor fellow under the tap in the bathtub.

Smudge has been hiding behind the futon since nine o'clock last night (that's fourteen hours and counting), and I've only just managed to coax him to poke out his head for some food. Otherwise he hisses and growls at anything or anyone that comes near him.

I was hoping to move the futon around today, but I guess it'll have to wait.

Called her again today, but no response. Will try again a few more times, and see if she wants to talk later.

Don't know what more I can do, short of getting in the car and going to Vermont (which I can't really do because I have a new cat in here *and* Gretzky needs to have her eardrops in twice a day, and I really can't afford another $200 vet bill).

She's home for the week on vacation, which means she'll have no access to email or the internet. Letters only get there about a week later.

Hey, 'chelle, you out there?

Kinda worried over here.

There's a whole bunch of people who haven't been posting lately, although for some of them I know why.

*blows kisses to Topaz and Kitten, who're busy with work*

[livejournal.com profile] hermione_like, you still around, babe?

(Before anyone gets miffed, I'm only asking after those people who generally speaking post one or more times a day and from whom I haven't heard in a while: if you post once a week but haven't posted in two weeks, I'm assuming that you just skipped a week or whatever).

Guys?

Who's out there?

Is it just LJ being a bitch? :)

Smudge seems to have taken up permanent residence behind the futon. I'm hoping he'll come out eventually to poop or something. :P

Poor guy, he really seems quite traumatised by his whole experience.

I saw X2 today, a cheapie showing at the Eaton Centre, along with [livejournal.com profile] fearsclave, who at one point complained that it was too comic-bookish, until I poked him in the ribs and asked him what his problem was with X-Men being comic-bookish, and he agreed with me.

We had fun anticipating all the cheesy lines, and I poked fun at the terrible pseudo-science they used, and all in all we had a good time. Briefly discussed friends and Bigfoot (coming up in 6 weeks, eep!), and went our separate ways.

I decided finally to do something with the small aquarium [livejournal.com profile] joane gave me a few months ago (the one given to me by [livejournal.com profile] firewillow is going to wait until I have a lot more money at my disposal), so I went to Alexis Nihon Plaza (it's kind of a cross between a shopping mall and a department store, for those of you who don't know) and got two goldfish and a snail (pleckos neeed warm water, the girl there told me, so she recommended I get a snail since I don't have a heater to go with it), and two plants, some gravel and a big rock-like thing they can swim around in.

The fish seem to have settled in nicely, unlike Smudge, who as I type this is growling furiously because George poked his head under the futon to see what was happening.

Not sure what to do with myself tonight, but I'm sure I'll find something.

:::Semi-filtered:::

On Sunday I thought that right now I'd be either in Vermont or driving back from there with my girl.

Instead I'm at home trying to coax a reluctant Smudge out from behind the futon, watching the snail in my new aquarium try to sort itself out (it landed upside down a while ago), and waiting to see if the phone will ring.

I called again at 8pm, and I guess I'll try again at 9pm.

I guess I suck more than I thought at this relationship thing. I'm doing something wrong, that much is obvious, but I don't know what's right in a relationship anymore, if I ever even knew it to begin with.

She wants to move to Seattle by the end of this year.

I don't want to leave Montreal.

Do we see a problem developing?

*sigh*

One problem at a time. Now, if she'd only answer the phone when I call. She said she'd be home between 8pm and 9pm. So I guess another three minutes or so and I try again. If not, well, there's always tomorrow.

She called me a few times while I was up at the Shack, and once or twice last week, and I didn't call back, so I guess I deserve this. I did email once or twice, but I guess it's probably not the same. I don't know.

*beats head against wall* I don't know how to make this work, dammit!
