Why, oh WHY will this baby blanket NOT END? WHY?!?

Gah. I keep knitting, and I swear the thing never gets any longer.

That's what I always hear from anyone who's taken on blankets, which has kept me away from those.
Although I can sympathize, having done scarves that seemed to go to China.

But it WILL end. :)

Knit socks instead! ;)

Oh yeah, because there aren't any parts of a sock that seem to go on forever. Nope. Nuh-uh. Never.

(Well, if you discount the ribbing, leg, and foot sections.)

This part of the project us called the "black hole". You knit and knit and knit and it doesn't get any longer. (Much like the Skein that Would Not End on Saturday evening...)

I would if my friends stopped getting pregnant! :P

Everywhere I go in Mtl I see tons of pregnant ladies. I'm starting to think it's something in the water.

I just found out about two more. It's a conspiracy! It's like Children of the Corn around here, only without the creepiness and death. ;)

Two more? Anyone I know?

Nope. My friend Marie-Claude and Néomée's sister Béatrice.

You sound like J when she did ours (a huge 2 person one), it took her a year I think.

I believe you. At one point it's like the thing just never gets any bigger no matter how much time you spend knitting.

That's why I crochet.

I still can't crochet: I can never figure out which of the holes is the actual stitch. ;)

One of these days I should show you. It's easy once you get the hang of it.

Easy, Once...

So is rocket science.

So I hear.

I can barely knit. Crochet is beyond me.

Knitting

I was knitting an eyelash yarn "collar" for Queen Dog when boom, I went into the hospital in January, 2005.

I started working on it again and boom, she died in October.

I decided to challenge Fate and started working on this again a few months ago. No one has died this time (yet), but of course, it is no longer a feminine collar for a dog who doesn't exist. It's a hood for me, and I knit, and I knit, and I knit, and it never gets any longer.

Like your blankie.
