Oh GOD -- the 401 between the QC-ON border and Toronto is the most boring stretch of highway in the world. (Can't vouch for between TO and whatever exit you take for Stratford, because I do it separately when my mum and I go and we're fresh. Also, we watch for cows.)
You are aware that you've barely scratched its surface, right? Back in 2002, a colleague and I drove from Toronto to Thunder Bay for a conference. And then riding across the country last summer, I got to observe that the Toronto-Thundey Bay distance was only about 2/3 of the distance to get from Manitoba to Quebec.
Just look at the tally of days (well daily entries) in the right sidebar on <a href="http://rolling.melon.org/>my blog of the ride</a>. Ontario weighs in more than one and a half times as long as the next longest province. And BC had the excuse that I wasn't fully in riding shape then, and had to go over (or around, if possible) all kinds of crazy mountains. Ontario had no excuse for taking so long (and I had to mentally divide it into three chunks to maintain the same sense of progress I'd felt in the rest of the country).
