Stratford, ho!
Jul. 16th, 2009 08:42 amAm off in a little over an hour for an exciting road trip to Stratford with
luvenditti and Phil-who-has-no-LJ.
Wheee!
I will be back late on Saturday, so don't wait up for me. ;)
Barbecue yesterday was lots of fun, if a little stressful as I spent most of this week including all of yesterday running around like a madwoman trying to get everything sorted out for the trip and for having guests, all the while trying to negotiate IKEA and various other things.
Nonetheless, good times were had. It had been a while since I'd had a proper geek-filled conversation, and there was happy reminiscing about Perseity and Flamfew among other things.
longpig was looking lovely as usual, and it was great to finally meet
wererogue. Making up the rest of the party were
miseri,
sorceror,
vureoelt,
gats (who brought hot dogs and hamburgers and buns and CAKE!), and of course
moonandtree.
Apparently there has been some confusion about the living arrangements over here in Ville Émard. Allow me to clarify: I live in the lower part of a duplex. I occupy the ground floor and the basement.
moonandtree lives in the upper apartment, on the second floor. The two are not, in fact, interconnected in any way.
Okay. Gotta have my coffee and finish packing.
Happy trails!

Me: *bouncing happily* "I'm going to the Stratford Festival this year!"
Co-worker: "I don't know what that is."
Me: *blank stare* "It's a famous Shakespearian festival. It's held in Ontario every year. Colm Feore is playing Macbeth this year!"
Co-worker: "I don't know who that is."
Me: "Colm Feore?"
Co-worker: "Yeah."
Me: "Oh, well, he's a famous actor. You probably saw him in Bon Cop, Bad Cop."
Co-worker: "Huh. Well, whatever."
Me: "But he'll be playing Macbeth! That's very exciting."
Co-worker: "What's Macbeth?"
Me: "..."
[Silence]
Me: "It's one of Shakespeare's most famous plays?"
Co-worker: "Never heard of it."
Me: "Please tell me you've at least heard of Shakespeare?"
Co-worker: *shrug* "I guess."
Me: *headdesk*
