Okay,I haven't posted a random poll in a while, and I'm contemplating making more coffee, so here you go!

I said I never drink it, bleah, which is not strictly true - if I'm in a social situation in someone's home where they serve it to me (and it's already made and so forth), I'd probably drink it to be polite. But if it was a 'let's go out for coffee' sort of social occasion, I'd order a tea or a hot chocolate or something else rather than coffee. It's not even that I don't like the taste - I don't mind it if it's well-loaded with sugar and milk - but if I have it, even at 10am, I'll be awake half the night.

Hee!

I don't have an option for: "I never drink it for health reasons except when I cheat," so I guess that's okay. :)

Nah, he doesn't cheat; he *does* drink it on social occasions, however, and quite likes it, too, so long as it's decaf. We've discovered this awesome decaf. Danish imported coffee that tastes incredibly smooth and delicious.

Myself, I think I like the smell and the warmth and the ritual/preparation of coffee more than the actual coffee.

An I.V. drip would be more efficient, but then I would not taste it.

You know how much I love the taste of Coffee.

I used to drink coffee but I think it is responsible for upsetting my stomach so I've cut back almost completely on it. Tea is fine for me, for some reason. *shrug*

Anyway, I so still drink coffee when I am on the road and need to stay awake, or when I am visiting and that's what someone has made and offers me.

I cut right down when pregnant, not even a cup a day. When I was breastfeeding I would allow myself some evenings a coffee mocha with a spoon of hot chocolate in, but I still try not to have too much even though baby and I are now slowly weaning.

When I was a young whippersnapper like you, I drank 20+ cups a day. I can't do that anymore :)

tea for me!

I don't *never* drink it, but only very rarely, and then only things that are coffee by the farthest stretches of the imagination. Like Julie, it keeps me awake like crazy... and I don't like it unless it is full of sugarycreamybadness.

It takes a lot of willpower to stay under two a day, the studio being right next to a Tim Hortons.

I will usually drink a morning one, before starting work.
And then, an occasional after lunch one. But this one is more social (read escape for a few minutes from work) then necessary.

At home, I usually prefer tea during the day.

COOOOOFFEEEEEEE

I like the taste. It doesn't affect me that much in terms of keeping me awake and I've got no problem drinking a cup or two after dinner. I usually have coffee in the morning, bring a thermal mug with me to work, drink it on the way to work, and if I don't bring the thernmal mug, the routine is fill the glass with water and the cup with coffee when I get to work.

I'll have another cup in the afternoon, sometimes.

At home, we keep a tin of flavoured coffee or two, and combine the regular with a flavoured to brew, at a ratio of 3 parts to 1 or so. That's because the flavoured coffee by itself is way too pungent, but added as a sprinkling of flavour in regular coffee works really well.

While pregnant, I found decaf too mild (still drank it though), until I found that A.L. Van Houtte actually carries a dark roast decaf in the whole beans, and that made me happy cheese.

My coffee consumption goes in cycles. At its peak (right now), I can drink the equivalent of 1-2 POTS of coffee per day, and I seldom drink coffee after lunch time. Typically, I actually have 1 Pot plus 4-6 espressos.

Then I get appalled at how much I drink, and cut back to the point I'm only having one or two decafs in the morning.

And then something happens when I need to be alert without enough sleep, and I start back on the road to ever more caffeine...

Never acquired the taste for coffee. My day starts with a really ginormous mug of Tetley (or Earl Grey or English Breakfast). In mid-afternoon I usually have half a can of Guru Juicy (the guarana content of a full can being equivalent to about three big cups of coffee).
