And another
Jun. 11th, 2008 10:58 amMy supervisor's wife just got diagnosed with breast cancer. They don't know if they've caught it early, or whether it's another kind of cancer that's metastasized.
All we can do now is wait for results, after she has surgery.
He's a cancer survivor himself, and he worships the ground she walks on. :(

They are fortunate to have you feeling this with them. I'll add my prayers, such as they are, to yours, even though I'm pretty much just an anonymous person to all concerned.
Your caring for them is a very good thing.

Date: 2008-06-12 03:47 am (UTC)The good news is of all the different types of cancer, doctors have the best program in place for educating the patient from the start, arming them with information so they know exactly what is happening to them at all times, and dispelling fear. In terms of patient support, family and friends are often educated enough about the disease, or unfortunately know one or more people who have had it, to offer support rather than feel cowed and turn away.
I hope they caught it in time.
