Back at work. Whee. I'm behind schedule, which means lots of fun anxiety attacks. The less said about that the better.
I think I can catch up. I'm going to finish one text today, work like a madwoman to get the other text finished for Friday, and then I'll be good. Provided I can get all that done. I think I can do it.
I'll be like the Little Engine That Could. I think I can. I think I can...
Anyway...
Sunday with Miranda was fun. I brought lots of juice, and we went shopping for food at Marché Akhaban (I think that's how it's spelled) and a Korean grocery store, where we bought Pocky, which I now realise I didn't eat after all. :::facepalm::: Oh well. Next time.
We watched "Better Than Chocolate" which was a very fun movie. Lots of hot women, lots of cool butch women too. :) Solid plot although not ground-breaking except for the fact that it was about lesbians. Essentially a kind of lesbian romantic comedy without the annoying and ho-hum qui pro quos that one gets in today's hetero romantic comedies ("Oh no! I see my handsome love interest talking with a woman! He must be unfaithful! Well, I'll show him! I'll go out with another handsome man to make him jealous, because I'm sure that will make him run into my arms!" :P).
Anyway, all this to say: good stuff. Very solid fare, good acting, what have you.
She put on an episode of Farscape for me to watch, since I've never seen that series. It was a fun watch, to be sure. Not sure that I'd ever really get into it if I were to watch it independently, but it's fun. I couldn' help thinking that the tall warrior dude was trying very hard not to be a Klingon while having dark skin and lots of facial prosthetics. Enh. The muppets were way cool, though. :)
The crux of the evening was the premiere of Six Feet Under, which may just become my newest obsession. I may have to join the fandom. I hear the first season is out on DVD... :::wantwantwant:::
It rocked. No words to describe how much it rocked. One of the main characters gets on my nerves, but I think it's because he's so much of a cliché and he kind of looks like a chinless wonder. Nonetheless, the guy whom I think is supposed to be the main character (more or less: it's more of an ensemble piece than centred on any one character) immediately appealed to me, so I think this is going to be good.
Miranda and I have decided to make this a regular Sunday thing. Not next Sunday, obviously, since she's going to be in Toronto and I have a wedding to go to, but afterwards. Yes. Six Feet Under every Sunday at 10pm. w00t!
Okay, back to work.
