Post-birthday post

mousmeMany thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! It was very nice of you to do so. I think the collective happy-wishing mojo had its effect, because I had a really really nice birthday.

luvenditti's place, where I stayed the night after her End of Holidays Lament Potluck. I slept until about 9am in a very comfy guest bed, and woke up to her parents wishing me a happy birthday and making me pancakes.
We went clothes shopping, because I was in dire need of suitable tops to wear to work, and I apparently won at clothes shopping, because not only did Penningtons have a 70% sale, but I also got an extra 10% discount because it was my birthday. It rocked.
We had lunch at Casa Grecque, whereluvenditti treated me to calamari, and then we bopped around various stores for another couple of hours before she very kindly drove me home on her way to a party. I also bought a cat toy that hangs off doorknobs for the cats, and so far it's been a hit. I am quite pleased with the day's purchases, all told.
I had dinner with the parental units, which included oysters (yay!) and a very nice Alsatian Riesling. It was delicious, and I had had so much food that day already that I couldn't finish it and passed entirely on dessert.
I got to bed at a relatively decent hour, and just awoke about fifteen minutes ago. This morning's plans include groceries, a bit of tidying, and perhaps a bit of writing. Then this afternoon I am off to seetcaptain and his lovely girlfriend. I am anticipating another good day.
