Cat in need of a home
Aug. 24th, 2007 11:32 amHi there, intrepid f-list!
This is Sasha. She's a good-natured two-year-old tortoise-shell cat (more or less, her lineage is unknown, really) who needs a new home. She belongs to my neighbours.
She's currently expecting her third(!) litter in September, after which her owners have told me they're going to have her put to sleep. (The kittens have already been promised to various homes) Since I'd really rather they didn't do that, as she's in perfect health, I offered to take a picture and spread the word.
Sasha has all her shots, but isn't spayed (obviously), and would do best in a home with no other cats where she'd be allowed to roam outside a fair bit. However, as long as she's well-treated, all of that is negotiable. She's very, very friendly with humans, but apparently doesn't get along all that well with the other cats she lives with.
If you want to adopt Sasha, or know someone who'd be willing to take her in, please email me at my livejournal address and we can work out the details. Also, please spread the word as far as you can. Sasha is a darling, and I'd hate to see her be euthanized just because her owners can't be bothered to keep her anymore.

Good for you for posting this, and spreading the word. Please post if she finds a home.

Date: 2007-08-24 05:43 pm (UTC)People! Cute kittens grow up to be cats!
This poor mama cat had to have a 3rd litter, then be put down...at only 2 years old? I so hope someone gives her a home (and has her spayed).

Date: 2007-08-24 05:48 pm (UTC)I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, but would you like to start a JP for the AS team? I'm totally stalled on how the hell to move this thing along, so I would appreciate a JP and OOC-chat to try and work the kinks out of this mission. :P
I shall post for Dickie this weekend, too. Was going to do it today, but then the car nearly went tits-up on me and I had to take it in.

Date: 2007-08-24 11:28 pm (UTC)I know what you mean. If I didn't have four already, I'd take her in. Heck, if I had a house I'd take her in, four cats or no.

Date: 2007-08-24 09:39 pm (UTC)Why? Because they can't bother SPAYING their cat? If I lived closer, I'd take her. She has a neat face.
Such selfish owners. Just wrong.

Date: 2007-08-25 04:29 am (UTC)I think they don't want to shell out the cash to have her spayed. The woman has developed allergies, and Sasha doesn't get along with their other cat. What I don't understand is why they don't just give her up for adoption rather than euthanize her.
mildly OT
Date: 2007-08-25 07:21 pm (UTC)It is so, so wrong to put an outdoor cat down because you can't be bothered to do the responsible thing. I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that karma's going to slap them silly, but so far it hasn't done much. And yes, as you say, there may be other issues, but still. Relocate her!
Gah.
sigh

Date: 2007-08-24 10:40 pm (UTC)Frankly I'd be reporting them to RSCPA if they were over here and have the Cats Protection League take her in.

Date: 2007-08-25 01:09 pm (UTC)The KITTENS are all spoken for but the CAT has to be euthanized? Am I the only one who thinks this is bullshit?
I won't let a cat outside in my area (way too much traffic), and I already have the two, so I really hope you find someone. I can't stand to see a cat put down for no reason. Please keep us posted.
