For the second time in two weeks, I looked up as I left the parking lot at work, and saw stars. The Big Dipper, and Orion, to be more specific.

Part of me is sad that it's a special event for me to see stars in the city. The rest of me is just really happy that I got to see them again.

Oh. It always so amazing to see the way stars are brilliant in a clear and chilly night sky.

The moon was really gorgeous last night as well. One of those nights where you can see the most beautiful thin crescent, but you can also see the outline of the dark side of the moon very clearly.

This icon of yours puts the Sarah Williams poem (and the choir arrangement we did for it in high school) into my head every time.

Last two lines from The Old Astronomer to His Pupil:

"Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light;
I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night."
