I am cursed

The power cord I bought yesterday morning is missing. Vanished. I brought it to work, and decided to take it inside with me because it would be "safer" than in the car.

I was halfway home when I realized I'd forgotten it. I turned around, went back to work, and it was gone.

My supervisor remembers seeing it, no one else knows what happened to it. Either the cleaning staff threw it out by mistake (unlikely), or someone took it.

I'm out $45.

To say that I am pissed off would be putting it mildly. In fact, "minor meltdown" would better describe my feelings from last night. I am calmer today. Still upset, but calmer. I will have to go buy *another* power cord tomorrow. For another $45.

I took today off from everything other than work. I figured that if anything else went wrong, it would shove me right over the proverbial edge. So I took a book to bed, slept in, and made myself hot chocolate and cream of wheat when I got up this morning. I am feeling marginally better.

The whole situation, however, sucks.

Woohoo! One of the trackers found it! It got put away completely out of sight. Huzzah!

Oh, ye gods. This is beyond ridiculous.

What kind of cord do you need? We may have an extra, or the neighbours might, or *someone* we know must have one that will fit and work.

Book, bed, hot beverage. Good idea.

Uh, 12 volts, 800 mA. I can always get a universal adaptor if the one involved doesn't fit.
