Merry Christmas

I'm not going to be home tomorrow, so I thought I'd wish everyone on my flist the joy of the season, no matter what you celebrate (or don't celebrate, as the case may be).
Now I have to figure out how to get two very large presents into my parents' condo without either of them noticing. I bought them a VCR so they can watch their old tapes, and even though it wasn't too expensive, it's pretty bulky. Also, I am the keeper of my father's Christmas present for my mother, which is an orchid. How I'm supposed to keep that one under wraps is beyond me —at least the VCR is wrapped in shiny paper. Ah well. I shall figure something out.
As has become tradition, I shall be spending Christmas Eve with them and sleeping over there, so that we can spend Christmas morning together before the rest of the family arrives.
This time around I won't be there when the family comes, or at least not for very long. Work starts at 2:30 and I have to leave around 1:45 in order to be there on time (with the car —by bus would be an entirely different story).
I have a ton of stuff to bring to my parents'. My mother has requested that I bring tupperware and a few things to be dry-cleaned (the parental units are being nice and taking my stuff along with theirs the next time they go —I may complain about them, but my parental units are pretty awesome all-around). I also have to bring a change of clothes, my toothbrush etc., pajamas, and the orchid and VCR. Eek!
Have to run. The paternal unit needs the car for a while today, and I have to go to
curtana and
forthright's Christmas Eve day celebration later this afternoon.
So again, to all my friends, may your days be filled with joy and celebration and good cheer.
