I have gone through all my laundry. I have one, perhaps two loads left, and then I'm done! YAY! I'm seeing a lighr at the end of the tunnel, here.
I liberated my linen cupboards in the bathroom over the washer and dryer today. Took out all the clutter and washed the shelves. Tonight, when the shelves are dry (they were still wet when I left for work), I shall fold and put away my sheets and towels the way they are supposed to be. I am ridiculously pleased by this latest development. I have been meaning to do this for years (literally). I will have some ironing to do, as well, but I am more than willing to do that if it means all my stuff will be put away and neatly organized.
The quest to reclaim my dining room closet continues, although I didn't have much time to do anything about it this morning, as I was busy with laundry and linen cupboards. Tomorrow I have to go out shopping (*sigh*) so I won't be able to do any de-cluttering, at least not in the morning. Maybe at night when I get home.
Still left to do is to straighten up the living room (maybe one of these days I'll find a way to arrange my furniture which I like), wash all the floors, and give the bathroom and kitchen a quick once-over, just so they continue to sparkle. The biggest job will be the floors, and I'm really not looking forward to that. Oh, and ironing. Lots of ironing.
I also have to re-arrange my bookcase, which is suffering from a serious case of overcrowding and poor organization these days.
The cats have finally grown accustomed to the sound of the timer, and no longer freak out every time it goes off. This is an improvement. Pan-Pan has been especially clingy these days, ever since I started going back to work. Mind you, he was clingy before, so maybe that hasn't changed all that much. Every time I sit at the computer, there he is, on the keyboard, on my lap, purring, head-butting me, trying to shove his cold wet nose into my ear canal... yeah. It's sweet, but a little annoying when I try to get stuff done.

joane and
shenlo come to visit. I'm cautiously optimistic that the place will be ship-shape by then. Or at the very least, clean enough that I won't be utterly humiliated if they come inside. The true test will be after that, to see if I can keep the place clean.
In other, non-cleaning news, work continues apace. It's a little slow right now, but that doesn't mean much. Sometimes you get an hour or two in which nothing happens, and then a mad rush. I'm a little torn, because while the slow periods are boring, they're also way less stressful than when calls come in one after the other.
I got up at 9:30 this morning, which is decent enough, but a little late to run out and do the shopping I wanted to do. So tomorrow is my last chance before Saturday to get my shopping done. I don't especially want to spend Saturday shopping, because it's the 23rd and things are going to be crazy. Not that they won't be crazy tomorrow, but the 23rd will be even worse (let's not even talk about the 24th -that scenario gives me the creeping horrors).
I'm looking forward to Christmas this year (the part spent with my family, not the part spent at work) and to 2007, which looks like it may well be a kick-ass year. 2006 treated me pretty well, all told, I must say, and the trend looks like it's going up. I shall have to do my yearly recap in the next few days. It's become an LJ tradition for me.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates.
