I give up.

The carpet guy is refusing to do the installs until we pay him. We can't pay him because the Accounts Payable person isn't here. I have to reschedule another fucking carpet anyway for tomorrow because the ass-hatted carpet guy doesn't understand the basic concept of scheduling.

So client A) is having his carpet done six hours late, and client B) is being pushed back a whole day, supposing he can clear his schedule for us.

:::ETA:::

Oooh, fun! We're missing materials for client A)! Excitement abounds.

Repeat to self:I am not allowed to beat the carpet guy to death with his own carpet. Bloodstains are a bitch to get out, and then we'd have to pay for the carpet. I am not allowed to beat the carpet guy to death with his own carpet. I am not allowed to beat the carpet guy to death with his own carpet.

I'm a little tired of fixing the constant fuck-ups that have been happening around here due to everyone being stressed out of their minds and there being no money. I spend all my time fixing shit, and then people are surprised when my work isn't done. Grah!

I really, really wish I didn't have such a good work ethic (Action Woman would be so disappointed in me). I wish my work ethic allowed me to not care about how much work I'm going to leave undone when I leave this job on Friday.

I went through a similar thing when I left the lab I was working for during the summer before starting my masters. I litterally tried to do everything, even stayed until midnight to "get it all done". Not to mention re-writing my entire lab book - or should I say trying to re-write my entire lab book as it was simply too much to get it all done in time. So my point is, do your best, prioritize based on what somebody else can't do without calling you to ask you how they should do it and enjoy the week-end. The problem with the rug guy isn't getting solved untill next week? Let whomever is handling that take care of it. You're not leaving because they don't appreciate the work you're doing. You're not leaving because you're dumping them either (which is what I was feeling when I left my job(s) to "work" full time in grad school. They can't afford to pay you to stay any longer, and that means they will have to deal with the fact that there will be things left undone. Your work ethics are fine. You just can't pull miracles. Don't let people bring you down with their own imcompetence and keep your head up.

That was my doctor Phil moment here...

And now for the Jerry Springer moment: go ahead, beat the guy with his own carpet!
