Cleaning Update #815,397,264

Are you sick of me yet? ;)
The floor is washed. Sadly, I am not finished. I'm waiting for it to dry so I can wash the baseboards, which are filthy. I will have to wash it again tomorrow. However, the worst is over. The floor no longer looks like the barbarian hordes invaded recently (or conversely, y'know, like four cats and a human who doesn't wash her floors regularly have been living here).
I think the dishes are reproducing secretly without telling me. I keep discovering odds and ends that need washing.
The unreasonable part of me is now saying that I could take "a little nap" while I wait for the floor to dry. Hah. Ha-hah. No. We tried this last night, remember? Going to bed early in order to get up early and do some cleaning. The first part went fine, but the second didn't really happen.
I have learned my lesson, at least temporarily.
I am re-subscribing to FlyLady.net. I'm going to grit my teeth and ignore all the talk about God and the underlying assumption that, as a woman, your role is to be a wife and mother and run a clean household and welcome your husband back from his long hard day at work with well-behaved children, a tidy house, and dinner on the table. Oh, and put out for him when your day is over. If he helps out it's a bonus, but really it's his God-given right to preside over the household without ever lifting a finger to help, even if his wife works as many or more hours as he does.
Maybe I won't re-subscribe after all. ;)
Wash floor
Wash baseboards
Tidy bathroom (almost there)
Put boxes out to curb for recycling
Put TV stand on curb for pickup
On second thought, maybe I'll wash the baseboards tomorrow evening when I get back from
ai731's vernissage. Note to self: do NOT drink too much alcohol afterward. You will already be overtired from tonight, with the prospect of another late night tomorrow and a very early and busy Saturday. Tired!Phnee + alcohol = BAD.
G'night all!

G'night all!
A housekeeping tip from <lj user=fearsclave>
Date: 2006-08-11 12:44 pm (UTC)If you've got to do the baseboard, do them first, and then wash the floors. Water flows down, and this way you won't have to wash the floors twice :).

Date: 2006-08-11 02:31 pm (UTC)I guess I'll stop doing that on Anti-Procrastination day.
I went and decluttered my DH.
That was FLY-ing.
And stuff.
