Sunday morning comin' down...
Jul. 9th, 2006 11:27 pmOkay, so it's Sunday night, but I'm well within a 24-hour time limit, so I figure I'm okay.
I've been feeding Saash and Grimshackle this weekend, since the Baron and Baroness (that would be
baronscartop and
ai731 were out of town. They should be back any minute, actually. While Saash still hides under the table when I come in ("Fuck you, you're not Mummy!"), I am pleased to report that Grimmie has warmed to me considerably, and no longer flees as though being pursued by an army of kobolds. We even had a nice cuddle on Friday evening when I came in.
And now I shall drop LJ names like it's going out of style:
Spent today with
curtana and
forthright and met the heir apparent for the first time. They're both in fine fettle (
curtana is looking especially good these days —motherhood appears to suit her), and young Arthur is not only a very handsome baby, but he was also quite well-behaved for most of the day. By the time evening came around he got a bit tired, and dinner was something of an issue (his grandmother helped out there, which was very nice), but on the whole he's an admirable young man. Soon he'll be old enough to roleplay. Mwahahahaa. We were joined by
miseri,
sorceror,
the_lich and
gats (though he came much later, after work).
So the day was spent catching up, swapping old gaming stories, and generally having a good time. We ordered Chinese food, and
gats brought cherries, which was a pleasant surprise. Actual gaming comences in three weeks' time. I am greatly looking forward to it. Also,
curtana and
forthright's new apartment is really quite a nice place: it's pretty large, has lots of natural light, and the linoleum in the kitchen is blue.
In anticipation of not having the car in about two months' time, I am slowly re-acquainting myself with Montreal's public transit system. I know certain parts of it well, mostly the metro, but I have to learn about new bus routes now that I and so many of my friends have moved around. I rather like the public transit system, for the most part, even if it does take me three times as long to get to some places. I can sit and read (unless it's rush hour), and it's cheaper than having a car, and I don't have to stress about parking.
Now, since my load of laundry appears to be done, I shall head to bed. G'night!

Date: 2006-07-10 04:56 pm (UTC)Me and Grimmie's mum apparently failed the kobold test.
Okay, for three minutes. Then his belly said, "Go upstairs, birdbath!"
Thanks.
