I'm up, sort of...

For the first time in weeks, I got to sleep in on the weekend. Yay! I had nowhere to be, no one to go see, nothing that was time-sensitive to do. I don't know if you can appreciate exactly how nice that is. I'd forgotten what it was like to have a Sunday to myself.
So now I'm awake. I should get up and ablute, and I still have the rest of the apartment to clean. Problem is, I don't feel like moving. ;)
Fifteen hours of sleep will do that to you. I had planned on getting up at eight, but that didn't happen. I was in bed at 8pm and asleep less than five minutes later. Guess I needed the sleep.
Anyway, the cats are fed and are no longer trying to beat down my bedroom door. "Mummy... Muuuummmyyyyy... come out and feed us! We know you're in there —we can hear you breathing!"
So the plan for the next hour or so is to perform ablutions necessary to belonging to the civilised world, having a bite of breakfast (or brunch, seeing what the hour is), and making a small shopping list. I don't have much to eat this week, so that must be remedied. Mind you, I still have about half of the giant pot of chili I made last week, so it's not like I'll starve or anything. I also have the bag of veggies that
toughlovemuse gave me on Thursday. Tonight I shall have steamed asparagus!
Important things on the list o' things to buy today, money permitting: tupperware (for storing large quantities of chili so's I can have my pot back to cook other things), muffin pans (two pans of six should be fine), and a fly swatter. I will kill all the stupid living flies, and continue to clean this place until I've found where they're coming from. Damn them. They are annoying, and my cats don't even derive entertainment from them. My cats are lazy, lazy creatures.
So, there will be figuring out of what to make for dinner(s) this week, and maybe I'll even be able to make muffins. The possibilities abound.
My parents are returning from France on Friday, and so hopefully I'll have this place in good enough shape by the time they come that I can have them over to dinner. They've been dropping hints for about a year now, so it's about time I did them the favour. Also, they now have most of the sordid details of the Bell debacle, and they've pretty much told me they plan on helping me sort the whole mess out when they return. :)
All I have to do now is vanquish the forces of inertia that have stapled me to the computer.

Date: 2006-06-11 10:18 pm (UTC)Its still in fine shape. So, cheap 'disposable' tupperwareoids may be a good bet.
(But that was a few years ago. They may be making the stuff flimsier now, if you can still find it' It was something like 1/5 the cost of the 'durable' stuff.)
