So I cheated...

mousmeI was going to force myself to go to dance class tonight. It's all a question of momentum, you see: if I can get there, then it's all good and fun.
However, I decided at the last minute that I would stay home. In light of this, and in order to feel virtuous about slacking off from my class, I cleaned the bathroom and did a load of laundry. I still have to sweep the floor, but otherwise the bathroom is squeaky-clean. I'm going to do another load of laundry before going to bed. Thus I will feel even more virtuous.
I have given myself a goal for this week: I want the apartment to be clean and tidy by Sunday evening. So I'm going to clean one room a day, with extra wiggle room for the rooms which need more TLC than the others. Specifically the dining room (the floor needs a serious wash in there) and the living room.
So I figure that weeknights will be used to clean the bedroom and the kitchen and to finish up the bathroom. That's Wednesday and Thursday, since Friday I'll be volunteering. Tomorrow will be decluttering!day, since Thursday morning is when the garbage men come, and Thursday I shall be doing the actual scrubbing, supposing I don't have the time to do it tomorrow.
Saturday afternoon I'll be able to devote my attention to the living room, leaving the dining room for Sunday morning and early afternoon (I'm volunteering after 4pm).
That means that, in theory, I should have done most of the major housework that needs doing by the time the weekend is over. In theory. Still, I already have one load of laundry in the dryer and another in the washing machine (leaving me with another two, possibly three loads before all laundry is completed), so I feel justified in feeling virtuous.
