I believe the problem begins when you have neither the benefits of the contract employee (flexible hours, extra pay) nor the benefits of a full-time employee (paid vacation, health plan, sick days).
Supposing that your "contract" actually makes you money, which mine doesn't. I get paid shit, and have no insurance and no job security on top of it. So.
