So last week the music seemed to give a nod to Mission Impossible. This week? James Bond. The swelling strings/orchestra bit as the Secretary's plane landed was seriously unnecessary. The goddamned plane is landing. Nothing impressive is happening here. Move along.

All I can say is that AARON HAD BETTER NOT BE DEAD, DAMMIT!

Apparently if I like a character on the show it's a goddamned death sentence. First Mason, then Chapelle, then Palmer and Tony and now... ARGH!

I'm just saying that if anything has happened to Aaron I may have to forswear this show entirely.

Speaking of which: Eep! Poor Martha. Another character I like. *sigh*

My mother kept complaining that they should have made a copy of the tape. My contention is that there wasn't enough time, but she insists there was. Anyone have thoughts on that? Between the firefights and the bank robbery and the running around like headless chickens, there was no time to make a copy as far as I'm concerned, but maybe I'm wrong.

By the way, was Secretary Heller in the armed forces at some point? This is the second time I've seen him kick ass for his country, and the first time involved an automatic weapon. So I'm thinking he must have some sort of military training.

Nothing will compell me to like Audrey. I suppose that pretty much guarantees she's going to survive. She's being marginally more useful this time around, though, gotta give her that. You'd think she'd at least have the presence of mind to hold her arm up so that she doesn't fucking bleed to death right away, but you'd be wrong. I guess survival instincts aren't as strong in some people. Yeesh.

If Jack Bauer says "I had no choice!" one more time, I'm going to puke. Seriously, you'd think the man was incapable of rational thought. Just because he always takes the first option that opens itself to him does NOT mean there wasn't another choice that might have presented itself had he waited half a minute. *shrug* Whatever.

My mother wanted to know why Henderson didn't shoot Bauer. My impression is that he really doesn't want to kill Jack. He has what he wants, and he honestly believes he's working for the good of the country. He doesn't want unnecessary bloodshed, and he had no direct order to kill Jack, so he won't. My mother doesn't buy it, but I can't come up with a better explanation.

And now, of course, their ONLY LEAD is in the hands of the enemy. What to do?

He was borrowing from The Score at the beginning of the previous ep.

I agree; there is nothing that will allow me to like Audrey. And, seriously, how fake was that "everything will be alright now!" kiss on the cheek? BLEH!

I'll be very upset if Aaron is dead too :( - but yeah fav characters getting bumped off is pretty typical for this show.

This episode irritated me like crazy.

They've been having a problem all season with killing people, like they think it's the only dramatic thing you can do. Michelle is dead - why? Have they done anything with this? Nope. Heller's security guy HAD to die, of course. Yawn.

Nice convenient gas tank, eh? Why did he need it? These professionally-trained soldiers were just pouring out of cover directly into Jack's kill zone!

Maybe Audrey's arm was too sore to lift. Props to the actress for her shock portrayal; most of the time it's overdone.

Heller should have at least thought of making a backup. To not even address that was just dumb.

As for Jack and Audrey not being dead - yep, that's stupid too. They know about Logan, the end. Henderson killed Palmer for less. And he tried to kill Jack earlier - again, for less.

I hope - hope - this script was a rush job. Because if they had time to edit it properly and think through the problems, and still thought it was okay, this show is in big trouble.
