Woo! I am Posty McPostalot!

Indulge me a minute while I procrastinate, and answer a question or three for me, dear flist.
1- How long have we known each other? (Roughly. No need for exact dates unless you're the compulsive type, in which case feel free to research.)
2- How did we meet? Online or off?
3- Do you consider me more of an online friend or an IRL friend?
4- Do you think I've changed much since we first met? How?
Go forth and comment! :)

Date: 2005-12-28 08:24 pm (UTC)2. Initially on-line, but then, as you mentioned earlier, you case for a visit.
3. Though I wish it were otherwise, on-line. At least until reliable transporters are invented.
4. Yes, you seem more... at ease with yourself.

Date: 2005-12-28 08:47 pm (UTC)Sadly, I don't know you much better than I did then, except through here, so I can't say how much you've changed. I think you're an incredibly stronger person and that's something that just grows.
And I still think you're someone I want to know.

Date: 2005-12-28 09:37 pm (UTC)2- Online - I believe through
3- We've never met IRL.
4- I don't really feel qualified to answer this. I mean, yeah, you've changed, but how substantially I'm not sure.

Date: 2005-12-28 10:09 pm (UTC)Almost a year now.
> 2- How did we meet? Online or off?
We met at the triple murder-mystery birthday party thang you threw last year around this time.
> 3- Do you consider me more of an online friend or an IRL friend?
Hard to say. I guess I've interacted with you more IRL than online, but not by a huge majority.
> 4- Do you think I've changed much since we first met? How?
Just my impression, but it seemed like you used to go out more. At least, the number of occasions where I'd run into you has seemed to decrease over the year.

Date: 2005-12-28 10:19 pm (UTC)2. We met offline at the first coffee meet at the Faubourg.
3. I guess we're... NaNo-friends? One of the "blah" things about being housebound so much is that I can't often see folks on a spur-of-the-moment thing - so I usually only get to see people at times planned days in advance.
4. This is tough for me to say, because of 3 above.

Date: 2005-12-28 10:52 pm (UTC)2. Online. Never met IRL, although I'd like to rectify that.
3. Online. However, "on-line friend" just has a nasty connotation that I don't like.
4. Hazy. Ask later.

We first met at Clubs Night at McGill in... January 1998? Thereabouts, I think. I had a cruuuu-uuush.

2- How did we meet? Online or off?
*
See above - offline. I was manning the Guild booth with Victor, and shot you with nerf arrows when you wandered by. You had a skirt on, and great legs. I think I was sunk the moment I found out you'd been a catholic schoolgirl. ;)
*
3- Do you consider me more of an online friend or an IRL friend?
*
Real life, of course, though because of distance we've been reduced to e-mail, chat and occasional holiday tackling.
*
4- Do you think I've changed much since we first met? How?

You're much more self-aware, in many senses. When we met you were trying so painstakingly to both hold everything together and hide your efforts from everyone at the same time... I think you've taken some huge, *huge* strides towards wellness and happiness since the day we met, and it's been such a joy to be by you as you did so.
And you just get cuter with time, naturally. [blows kisses] I should make you that plaid skirt.

Date: 2005-12-28 11:10 pm (UTC)2. Online, and we have never met IRL because there's the damn sea there.
3. Online, obviously.
4. Yes, I think you have. It's difficult to define exactly how, but I think you've become much clearer in your expression and maybe your thoughts as well, then. You seem to know much better what you like, and you're a lot saner. (When I call people sane or crazy, it's not meant to be an offence. I'm crazy myself, at leat at times.)

Date: 2005-12-29 12:14 am (UTC)I honestly don't know the answer to this question. We did NaNo for two years together, and we probably met at one of the coffee meets, or at a launch/wrap party. And goodness knows there's a terribly huge cross-section of People We Both Know, so I probably saw you and even spoke with you in passing at various parties over the past two years or more as well.
But I've known you personally since Invisible's first show in Mackay's living room, where Ceri decided it would be a great idea to have a girl band. I remember seeing you there, because well, there were only about fifteen people. And then the next week when the band met in person for the first time, it was squee at first actual words exchanged.
2- How did we meet? Online or off?
IRL. But for ages when I read people's LJs there were comments to and from this person known as Phnee, and I remember thinking, gods, that poor person, what an odd name to shoulder throughout life...
3- Do you consider me more of an online friend or an IRL friend?
IRL, absolutely. But we use the Internet to keep up with what's going on.
4- Do you think I've changed much since we first met? How?
Yes. Over the past nine months I've seen you become more self-confident. Plus you've become a drummer. That's one heck of a change.
It's a pleasure and an honour being your friend. I'm glad the universe finally got around to making sure we noticed one another instead of swimming in the same school and never connecting.

Date: 2005-12-29 03:02 am (UTC)2: Online. You were one of Hilary's gang of McGill Gamers' Guild buddies. One of her favorites.
3: IRL friend! We've gabbed, drunk, gamed, and gone to see movies n' stuff. I miss that! Most especially the gaming.
4: Yes. You have. Like Hilary said, you're a stronger person now. You have your struggles, but you FIGHT the shithead in your brain. Stand up for Phnee! We all love you!

Date: 2006-01-01 05:42 am (UTC)2) Reparo. Online, naturally.
3) I dearly wish we could be offline friends too, but we're far apart.
4) Oh yes. You've got your head a lot better sorted on many things than you had then.
Happy New Year, sweetie! *hugs*
