Don't look now, folks, but I'm posting from home.

I let Cleopatra think about her attitude for the day, and decided to give her one more chance tonight. It's been about ten minutes, and nothing bad has happened.

I have emailed myself all my important documents.

I will be monitoring the situation closely all through tomorrow.

Don't hold your breath. I don't know if this is the Computer Gods taking pity on me and allowing me to back up my stuff, or if the great Karmic Computer Wheel is swinging 'round in my favour. At the very least, I rolled a natural twenty on my "roll for dumb luck" roll.

Suffice it to say that I am *really* happy that I got to email myself my stuff. I just hope I can download it off the Sympatico server on my mother's computer.

Heat issues? They can cause your machine to shut down on you... Maybe after it cooled off things are working again. Have the fans checked and the inside cleaned, when you get the chance.

Iºm so happy that you managed to retrieve your writing! Phew!

If your computer doesnºt have a CD burner, Iºd invest in one of the USB pens to back up your stuff onto periodically. Theyºre great.

(ps. Apologies for wierd characters or typos, I seem to be on Italian version of LJ (?) that thinks Iºm using a different keyboard.)
