The woman who takes care of my account at the temp place called yesterday. She was all apologies because I hadn't been paid last week, but said that I would receive two paychecks today (instead of tomorrow, because the banks are closed).
Guess what?
That's right. I went to the bank machine today, and there was no money.
This means I have 0.80$ to my name until... wait for it... NEXT FRIDAY! WHEE! Yes, 0.80 cents, because I foolishly spent what was in my wallet yesterday (all ten dollars of it), trusting that my employers would pay me.
So, no lunch for Phnee today. I don't even have enough money to buy a goddamn chocolate bar.
I have almost no gas left in the car. I have a little bit of food in the fridge, certainly enough to last me a week. I means I won't be able to use the car to go anywhere, including to my various committments this weekend and next week. I can manage most of them without the car, luckily.
It also means I can't bring Pan-Pan to the vet. He hasn't been doing too badly over the course of the week, but I was seriously considering taking him to the vet anyway just to get him checked out. Now I can't. The vet is a minimum of $45 just for the examination. It usually ends up costing me about $60 per visit.
In conclusion: fuck.
P.S. If you're curious about that paycheck that they owed me back from August, no, it's still not been paid to me. So now they owe me nearly 1,000 if you include this week's pay. The fun never stops.

Date: 2005-11-10 09:22 pm (UTC)Seriously, I'm pretty sure they're supposed to pay you on a regular basis. Making you wait when you have bills of your own to pay is a serious hardship that you should NOT have to put up with. There must be SOMEBODY there who is authorized to cut you a cheque / transfer the money today or tomorrow.
