It's breaking my brain...

Watched more 24 yesterday. Spoilers ahead, for those of you who haven't watched Season 2. I'm trying to keep it fairly general, but I probably won't succeed.
1- Boy, they sure do seem comfortable with using torture to extract information from prisoners. No qualms whatsoever. Well, maybe Palmer had qualms, but Jack certainly didn't. That, and the guy who was torturing Stanton? Yikes. Very good at his job. Those guys really sound sincere about not wanting to hurt their victim, while wielding their implements of torture. Like I said: yikes.
2- Kim is stupid. I have decided this. "Yes, Crazy Man Who Lives Alone In The Woods, I'll be happy to go down with you into the bomb shelter you've built for yourself. No, I'm sure you won't try anything funny, because you helped me in the forest and so I'm sure you have no ulterior motivations!" *blink blink* Bah. She's a very, very lucky girl, though. Otherwise, I don't understand how she ever survived this long.
3- I am at hour 13. I have this sneaking suspicion that Mason is going to do something stupidly heroic. :::weeps::: I love Mason. He's so awesome, and it breaks my heart that I won't see him again.
4- The good blonde sister is starting to redeem herself in my eyes. She's not completely useless like I originally thought. Also, her sister looks good as a brunette.
5- If you have information that Jack Bauer wants, for Christ's sake tell him what he wants to know. He'll get it out of you anyway, and you'll spare yourself a great deal of anguish. Really, trust me on this.
6- I also have a sneaking suspicion that Jack is going to do something stupidly heroic. Luckily, I know for a fact there are three more seasons to come, so I refuse to worry about him. Mind you, I noticed he climbed down a ladder rather than springing to the ground. Does this indicate a newfound caution? Doubtful. More likely he thought that jumping would be too noisy.
7- Sherry Palmer is going to break my brain, I swear to God. It would help if she stopped smiling evilly all the time. Then again, it's kind of fun never knowing what she's thinking. Once, again, she underestimates her husband.

Date: 2005-10-11 05:22 pm (UTC)I don't mind it so much when it's a rogue agent like Jack applying it, but when it's a government institution that has some vague suspicions that an otherwise reputable person might not be telling the whole story, so they resort to torture, it was too much for me. I'm not too squeamish about things that happen on TV, but it seemed way too applicable to things that were happening in Iraq to condone.

Date: 2005-10-11 06:55 pm (UTC)I'm going to keep watching, because so little TV these days has good writing that I'm willing to put up with fictitious torture. I'll just keep deluding myself that's only fiction. :P
