Hrm. This is actually kind of tough, since I don’t have that many people who actually tell me that what I do on a regular basis is odd, or outside the norm.
Let’s see.
1) Moderate phone phobia. I won’t say severe, because I can and do use the phone when necessary. I just hate doing it, to the point of putting off even calling friends and family for weeks. I put off checking my messages, too. I’ve had this since elementary school, and have never really found a good way to deal with it. Oddly enough, I think my father also has a phone phobia similar to mine, although he’d never admit it in a million years. So, it might be a learned behaviour.
2) I’m an office supply freak. I am completely and absolutely addicted to office supplies. Especially filing materials. There’s nothing I like better than crisp, clean new folders with bright white new labels. Oh, and paper, and new pens that write well. Actually, in that sense, I’m an art supply freak too. Anything that lets me fuss with paper and pens and shiny stuff is good in my books.
3) I tend to get obsessively into particular activities, and go overboard on how much time and energy I’m willing to devote to them, to the point of burnout if I’m not careful. I’ll focus on something and get engrossed for hours without noticing the time go by (supposing it’s an activity I can do by myself). I also get seriously annoyed with people who want to participate in the same activity but don’t have the same level of frenzied devotion. Or, at least, who don’t honour their commitments about it, or who don’t give fair warning that they’re not taking this as seriously and are going to act in consequence.
4) I wear my watch on my right wrist, even though I’m right-handed. I’ve done this all my life, since I got my first watch at the age of five. I see no reason to change now.
5) Okay, I can’t think of anything else right now, but I’m sure there’s lots. They probably just don’t seem weird to me. ;)
Oh yeah...
