Is it 5pm yet?

Where the hell is Superman when you need him to rotate the Earth a little bit for you?
I promise I'll make a real update soon. Just not now. Right now I have a migraine and the office is going crazy. Or rather it's remaining crazy. The auditor is driving me batshit.
Next week L is on holiday, and I've just been informed that the CAM will be working from home. When the CAM works from home, it means three times more work for both L and me, but of course I'll be covering for L, which means I won't even have time to breathe next week.
Every time I clear something off my desk, three more tasks magically appear. It's getting discouraging.
I am way the hell behind on Beyond the Pale. Tonight I shall begin to catch up, supposing I'm still upright. Thought I would take a nap around 6:30pm yesterday, and woke up this morning at 6:30am when my alarm went off. I still feel like I haven't slept enough.
The weekend was marvelous, although due to a number of last-minute illnesses, the RWP was cancelled. Instead, there was much drinking and swimming in the pool, and barbecuing and a bonfire (with marshmallows, of course, and we made s'mores). I never knew what I was missing when I wasn't drinking Jack Daniels and Coke. Got very, very drunk, stayed up all night Saturday until the sun rose on the horizon. Found out I will never be a real writer because I didn't even think of writing while I was plastered, and I couldn't think straight while hungover.
I don't get headaches when I'm hung over. I get palpitations. It's not fun. Still worth it, though.

fearsclave,

fearsclave said, a pearl among women, and
rotagar's brother jump out of a perfectly good airplane. Next year, I might have enough money to join them. Or else go visit
whiskeygirl8 in Oklahoma. It sounds nice there.
Coming back to the city was probably the worst moment of the weekend. I'm really beginning to dislike the city, and as cities go, Montreal is definitely not the worst one to be in.

Date: 2005-08-10 03:54 am (UTC)What the heck is that all about? Real writers have to think about writing when they're drunk? And hungover? Are there a set of rules for real writers? I dunno, I just don't think you should try to box yourself into a set of expectations. You write when you need to and you think about writing when you have to.
It's there inside you all the time.

But I'm really not sure...
Note to self: stock JD in the rehearsal space for the drummer. Coke can be obtained from the machines downstairs.
Did you know that we now have a little baby fridge? You could have ice in your rum and Coke, too.

I'm sorry your job is such a b**ch.
Re: City
Date: 2005-08-12 03:10 pm (UTC)I've never had any problems stating that I'm not too keen on city life. This is a recent development for me, mind you. Maybe other people will jump down my throat later. ;)
I do like Montreal, don't get me wrong. It's been my home for 26 years. I think I'd just prefer to live in the country.
Re: City
Date: 2005-08-12 05:44 pm (UTC)Montreal's been your home for 26 years - this means all your life, yes?
I prefer the outer suburbs (where the next door neighbour's house isn't 500 feet away) of a small city. Can you tell I miss Halifax? :-)
Re: City
Date: 2005-08-12 07:27 pm (UTC)Halifax is a lovely city. I haven't been there in about fourteen years, but I remember liking it there a great deal. Have you decided to move back there?
