Mercury is retrograde, right?

The office has gone crazy. The printer has stopped working, half our faxes aren't going through, and we've had one electrical issue after another.
People have been giving out unclear and contradictory instructions, and papers are all over the place where they’re not supposed to be. A few of the account managers have been bringing their work to the credit department themselves in order to “simplify” things for me and L. Unfortunately, they don’t know the procedure we use, so that makes it actually more complicated for us, because we then have to track down the paperwork to make it go through the correct channels.
I lost a bunch of photocopies yesterday which I then had to re-do today, although not before I was reassured that the copies I made yesterday were useless anyway due to a number of minor changes that were made to the original document.
The CAM has been in fine fettle, and has piled on the emergency work and has contradicted herself at least six times since yesterday. I haven’t had this much paper on my desk since I was at Erb Transport.
Speaking of Erb, I came across one of the drivers I worked with there. He was trying to deliver something to the fourth floor and having no luck because there was no specific consignee. He’s no longer working for Erb, since Vaudreuil was too far for him, but went to work for their competition, Midland Transport, which used to be next door to Erb in Dorval.
It was nice to see a familiar face, actually, and we were able to catch up for a minute or two. I still miss working at Erb, in spite of the asshattery I had to deal with all the time. It was a nice little job.

Date: 2005-07-31 12:38 pm (UTC)This is why I should write things down. :::headdesk:::
I'll be with my club until 5pm today on the corner of Ste-Catherine and St-Denis, if you want to stop by and say hi. If you have any free time at all, we may be able to catch some of the sights. :)
