I just got fired. As of this afternoon.

There's a freaking pattern in the universe.

Except that I'm still happy about it.

This gives me the whole of next week to pack without freaking out. Yay!

I wish I wasn't driving tonight. I'd be getting really sloshed otherwise,

I'm glad you're happy, but there will DEFINATELY be some discussion about this later!

Thirded... what happened?

Listen though, if you come to doubt yourself, don't think twice about it. Let's face it, your boss was a psychotic asshole. You're better off without her. Get a better job working for someone who respects you. Good luck. I hope you soon find one such that you enjoy the work so much you feel guilty accepting the substantial remuneration.

Sometimes it happens at the right time, yes? Make a date with yourself to get sloshed ASAP... just not when you're packing breakables.

You obviously weren't happy at that job and were thinking of quitting. Sounds like my story, but much easier to accept when you have an obvious alternate source of income and what I lost was only a $1,000 a month. Yet, you seem fairly pleased and calm about it (if not exactly "jubilant" as I was). Hell, no one wants to be fired; you always want to quit first. But if you are cool with it -- and it sounded like a bad situation -- well, good deal. Advice you gave me: right back to you!

Aiee! Well, glad you're not too upset about it. Sounds like the kind of place that eats up employees and spits them out and that you're better off being out of there anyway. You'll have to share the story of what happened someday.

Whoa.

I mean ... whoa.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but did you see this coming at all?

Well, here's to better things in your (not-so-distant) future!

After the previous ones quit or got canned, you did say this was to be expected. Well, I guess booze is in the not too distant future :) Besides, the agency will find you something else fast enough. Just make sure you tell them your side of the story ;)

Awww. *hugs*

Sloshed can be good, indeed. But remember - no mixing! And no driving!

There was a pint of Guinness (which I forgot was really freaking expensive, dammit!), so no mixing, no sloshedness, and driving but I was well under my own tolerance limit and under the legal limit.

All was well. :)

See you tonight!

and usually she's right, there is something better out there waiting

take care and good luck,
K

p.s. - have one for me when you do (I could use one myself right now)
