A New Year's Meme.

Five things that 2004 taught me:

* You can't pick your relatives, but you can definitely choose your family.
* Keeping track of memories doesn't necessarily mean you're stuck in the past, if you use what you've learned in order to live more fully in the present
* Your breaking point is usually a lot further away than you think it is
* You find and lose friends in the most unlikely places (re-learned since 2003)
* Always plan for too many things. That way, when some of the plans fall through, you're still too busy to notice.

Five personally significant events of 2004:

* Getting a job! Yay me!
* Coming out to my parents! Yay me!
* Participating in NaNoWriMo without losing my mind, even if I didn't finish. Yay me!
* My best friends moving to Halifax. Yay them! (Even if I'm sad they're not here, I'm still happy that they're happy, after all)
* My uncle's death. I never really knew him, but it affected my family profoundly, and was our last remaining direct tie to the Old Country, so to speak.

Five things I want to do in 2005:

* Actually finish writing the novel I started for NaNoWriMo
* Travel (at least to Halifax, but if I can manage it I want to travel more than once)
* Become completely financially solvent (Heh. This was a resolution from last year, but since I'm not there yet, I may as well keep it there)
* Pick up my music again
* Do something spectacular (yes, I'm purposefully leaving that vague)

Five things I don't want to do in 2005:

* Go crazy (it's a short trip for me, so I'm making it a resolution)
* Go bankrupt (working on that)
* Stay in my current job unless I see some significant improvements really fast
* Allow myself to sink into apathy concerning my physical well-being (physical and otherwise, I suppose)
* Lose touch with my friends

Five people whom I'd like to know better in 2005:

* [livejournal.com profile] luvenditti
* [livejournal.com profile] mellybean71
* [livejournal.com profile] sultrysong
* [livejournal.com profile] baronscartop
* [livejournal.com profile] julienne64

For the purposes of this last list, I only listed people I have contact with in real life, and whom I don't feel I yet know as well as I could/should. Also, this list only allows five people, which is frustrating. Waah! I almost feel like leaving that part out entirely. It doesn't seem right, because I want to get to know *all* my friends better.

Gah. That's the problem with copy/paste. I started correcting it, then forgot.

Should be fixed now. Thanks. :)

Yay! If I were doing this list (and it's so hard to stay a goat when I really want to be a sheep), you'd be on that last one, too.
