Cooking (I need a cooking icon, yay!)
Nov. 9th, 2004 10:49 pmMy casserole rocks like a rocking thing.
I roasted a few chicken thighs in the oven with paprika, garlic and onions (and a quarter-ish cup of water and about one third of a cube of concentrated chicken bouillon), and added that to a base of spaghetti (only because the *censored* weevils got into my maccaroni!) and cream of chicken. As I was telling
joane earlier, in a flash of unprecedented genius, I decided to add carrots at the last minute.
When baking chicken in the oven, apparently setting it to broil for the last few minutes positively makes the meat melt off the bone.
Next time, I shall use a *lot* more garlic. It's good, but lacks garlic. Garlic is my friend. It's not like I have to worry about dates or anything.
I think that I shall also be more daring and add more vegetables. In fact, I shall likely do that when I reheat my leftovers. I have leftovers! This is the first time in recorded history that I have leftovers. From two dishes, no less! I have dinner for at least three more days in the week (two for the casserole, one for Sunday's pork), and I have chicken left over that's still not cooked. I may cook it tomorrow and add it to the casserole, too, as there seems to be very little meat in there, comparatively speaking.
In conclusion, I rock like a rocking thing.
