Autumn cleaning...

Thinking of pruning the ol' friends list again.
I like to think of LJ as a two-way street (like friendship, as my mother is fond of saying), and I tend to pour my heart and soul out here, so it kind of frustrates me when I don't get anything "in return." I'm not saying that people need to post as pathologically often as I do (yeesh, I'd never get through my friends page), but posting more than once every three months would be good. Or more than once every three weeks, even.
Not sure what I'm going to do yet. Going to take a good hard look at it, and then base selection (if I even decide to prune) on:
1- Frequency of posts (and content, too: if it's just quizzes and one-liners, it doesn't count).
2- Whether this person has commented anytime recently (or if I know them IRL has given any sign of life at all in the past few weeks).
3- Whether there are extenuating circumstances that excuse the above two (excessive amounts of work, crippling depression, what have you).
So that means very likely that there will be ruthless snipping going on, probably tonight when I get back from paintball, or maybe tomorrow if I'm too tired tonight. I'm hesitating right now because I know a lot of people are going to take it personally. Nonetheless, I think it needs to be done.
