Day IV of work went well, I'm pleased to say. I didn't learn much that was new, but at least I got to consolidate what I learned before, which isn't a bad thing. At least now I won't be learning new stuff on top of the other new stuff and getting it all mixed up.
OTOH, there's a lot of knowledge in there that appears to be stuff you just, well, get to "know" as you go along. Like whether a case of lasagna is shipped "frozen" or "fresh" from the plant. I mean, seriously. There's no way of knowing this by logic, and it's not written down *anywhere*. It's quite annoying.
Oh well. I'll live. ;)
I screwed up the fax machine twice, although not in any major way. I'm beginning to loathe that fax machine with a fiery passion.
Things are going reasonably well, in other words. I just wish I was getting some kind of feedback from my supervisor other than "you screwed up the fax machine." I'm trying to take comfort in the fact that I've been told that the only time he ever gives feedback is to criticize, and thus the fact that I've seen him maybe three times all week is probably a good sign. I'm probably doing most things right these days.
I'll see how this next week goes.
Went to the Parental Units' apartment to water the plants and caught Bride of Chucky on television. It has been my great misfortune to see some really non-scary horror movies lately. BoC was, as someone said about something completely different, like watching a train collide with another train on top of a burning zeppelin. I couldn't stop watching it, but it was so, so bad...
Called up the Parental Units in France once the movie was over, since the time differential allowed for it, and wished my father a happy Father's Day in advance. Had a nice, if short chat with them. It's cheaper for me to call from here using Yak, after all. They said they would call me today, but I guess they haven't been able to locate a phone, or maybe the technology has eluded them again (I wouldn't be surprised, considering who I'm talking about).
Yesterday was Recovery!Day, and I slept in. Went off to St. Willibrord's, wondered where
miseri had got to (see his LJ for more details on why he didn't make it), and then went food shopping.
Exciting, eh?
Afterwards I was off to Hurley's to meet up with the Bigfoot gang. Bigfoot is July 10th this year, so we have lots of stuff to get done. I have been put in charge of making a banner for our team. Originally I thought it was a gonfalon we were looking for, but I just looked it up, and that's not it. Oops. It's a standard, I'm pretty sure. Given that my sewing skills are next to nil, this will be an interesting challenge. ^^;
Well, I've found a few things on Google, and I'll go on St. Hubert to find fabric and borrow my mother's sewing machine, and hopefully it won't be a total fiasco. Eep! O_O
fearsclave was late, due to his having had a brutal two weeks at work. He decided to lie down for a few minutes before coming and was out like a light. We called him around quarter past eight and woke him up (I still feel a bit guilty about that), and eventually we managed to get about six people together for the meeting. Given that we're meant to be close to fifteen or twenty, that's not exactly quorum, but what can you do?
Got home, posted random question about vampires, chatted with Linda on Y!M until far too late, passed out in bed.
After Perseity, I will continue with Operation Clean Apartment. I need a better name for that...

Date: 2004-06-21 02:18 pm (UTC)I found out today how to ferret that out in the system, although apparently even that's not foolproof. Gah. o_O
