Now, the editor needs to 1- acquire the rights to translate the text, 2- hire yours truly to translate the text. Two necessary conditions for my getting this work. Nonetheless, am keeping my fingers crossed and using positive visualisation techniques and all that. ;)

*sigh* I want to live like that. I want to be blown about by the wind and be content with the randomness of it all. I want to feel comfortable when I'm not in control of my destiny. Because, really, when was I ever in control? I'd like to be happy in spite of that.

Well, fuck. The lightbulb blew out in the living room. I just changed it two weeks ago. That means the short that's plaguing my front entrance also affects the living room fixtures. Fuck and double fuck. My doorbell is also on the fritz. The Idiot!Landlord hasn't even been by to pick up his rent (not that I'd know, as the doorbell is broken, but his nephew downstairs claims he hasn't been by), so no hopes of his getting it fixed. Poop.
On, the plus side, I was reminded by my mother today of one of the perks of freelancing: I can get a bunch of returns on my taxes. Woohoo!

Date: 2003-09-12 06:36 am (UTC)BUT! Freelancing gives you tax returns only if you've made less that blah -- make sure you set money aside to pay your income tax when April comes around. I know, I got stuck paying over $5,000 one year for the freelance storyboarding I did...
