And now a proper update
Jan. 6th, 2004 11:27 amTook the felines in for their booster shots today. Smudge and Pan-Pan, anyway. Apart from the customary histrionics and yelling and screaming and general carrying-on when I put them in their boxes and carted them away in the car, their behaviour was exemplary.
They were model citizens with the vet. They stayed still on the table (mostly) while she examined them and took their temperature (Pan-Pan even purred, the slut!), and didn't even complain when they got their shots. I am very proud of my boys. :)
I bought cat litter while I was there, and received the disconcerting news from the vet's assistant that there will soon be an embargo in Canada on US cat food because of the stupid mad cow thing. So, Canadians with cats, start stockpiling! I'm going to have to appeal to the Parental Units for help with this one, as cat food is expensive. At least, the stuff I buy. :P
Let's see... my cats go through one bag a week, so if I wanted a three-month supply, I'd need twelve bags, which means $144. *faints*
Maybe I could learn to make my own cat food. Not dry stuff or anything, but I believe there are recipes and stuff on the internet. That would solve my problem, although it would be a massive hassle. ^^;
In other news, I think Dire Straight's Why Worry is going to become my personal theme song for now. I'm not kidding. It's got a beautiful melody, and the words echo just about what I'm feeling these days (minus the actual romantic love part, since I'm not in that mindspace). It's the whole "laughter after pain" and "sunshine after rain" and cyclical nature of life bit that's speaking to me right now. It's also a lovely, soft song. *happy sigh*

I bet you're right.
I've been looking into homemade cat food, and it looks just as expensive for the moment, so I'm going to stockpile, and when we run out, then I'll resort to the homemade stuff. ^_-
