Well, it was okay. And it certainly had its moments ("Swearing in French -- it's like wiping your ass with silk") and fantastic action. But for the most part I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd hoped. The orgy scene was weird, the fight scene with the Agents Smith looked like something out of a computer game (and just went on and on), I didn't understand what Smith was there for anyway, the philosophy the characters spouted was verbose and uninteresting (though the plot twist on the function of the One was kind of neat), and the ending was profoundly dissatisfactory.
And twin blond wraith rasta brothers in white suits -- what's up with that? 8^p
Agent Smith was cool, although I agree that scene was overly drawn-out.
The freaky twins were kind of random, and I thought the French guy was overdone and not that good. I liked his wife (although not the kissing scene: that was stupid).
I also couldn't tell if he was giving that woman in the restaurant an orgasm or explosive diarrhea. :P
The plot twist was neat (although I've met many people with varying interpretations), and I had to have the end explained to me, because I really didn't get it.
Actually, I probably wouldn't have understood most of the movie if I hadn't been surrounded by computer geeks.
That was another problem: it seemed to depend very, very heavily on viewers' having seen the original movie. I'm sure that if I hadn't seen it (more than once), many things wouldn't have made any sense at all.
Yeah, I finally got around to seeing it recently and I have to say... it is very different from the original Matrix. The first was a self-contained movie, the other a tv show episode which had to be stretched to fit two hours. It didn't come off or carry off quite well. A lot of unidentifiable discrepencies separated it in terms of feel from the first. Like most sequels... it didn't live up because this time, the people involved new that it was going to be a hit.
Me too!
I was disappointed in the movie, though.
