Off to go beat things with a large stick! Yay!

April has offered to help me with the basics of swordfighting, which means I'll probably be in a bit better shape for the SCA in the future (don't expect miracles this Tuesday, mind).

*bounce bounce bounce*

I'm all giddy and silly today. All common sense seems to have fluttered happily out of the window, and somehow I don't care.

*more bouncing*

With my luck this'll all blow up in my face, but by Gad I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. :) After all, it's not everyday one meets an apparently fantabulous person who is not only fantabulous but *actually* within a reasonable distance! Woohoo!

Did I mention she's a bibliophile and knows about gaming and the SCA and writes really well and has a cat and is really cool? No, I don't think I did, so there you go.

I am *very* pleased to hear that I'm not pissing people off. This is all very new for me, so you'll all have to forgive a fair bit of gushing at the start. I can't make any promises about behaving myself, unfortunately. :)

And glad about the swordfighting. My experience with it only comes from LRP, but it makes it much easier to write or run games with a swordfighting element if you've been through the 'no, put your weight on your other foot... turn your wrist the other way... don't do that, it leaves your whole side exposed' drill.

SCA = Society for Creative Anachronism.

Basically they're medieval re-enactors. Much fun. :)
